Sneaky Peek: A Very Kimba Christmas

Monday, November 16th, 2009

One of my most favorite bloggers, perhaps yours too, is Kimba from A Soft Place to Land.  She was kind enough to invite me guest post on her blog last summer.

So when she sent me an advance copy of her new publication ‘A Very Kimba Christmas’, I was delighted to absorb every one of the 72 pages of her writing, photography, and grand ideas.

I adore Kimba’s chic and casual style, her originality, generosity, and her family friendly approach to decorating.  Here’s a glimpse of a few of the fabulous projects inside her ebook, with very detailed step-by-step tutorials.

Burlap table runner, jute Christmas trees, and a wreath that looks like something out of Frontgate (or better!) but with simple instructions on how to do it yourself for much less.

Click on over right here to pick up your copy. I’m sure you’ll love it as much as I do.  And thank you Kimba for inspiring us all to feather our holiday nests with handmade seasonal touches !

Cards by Elise at Mama Cow Designs

Thursday, March 12th, 2009
I have a mega talented girlfriend Elise who is amazing at, oh, everything. She has some serious skills in the scrapbooking and card making department. I can’t even wrap my head around some of the creations she comes up with. I begged her to let me feature some of her cards. Then I begged her to put her beauties on Etsy so the world could appreciate them too. To me, these are little works of art.

Hard to see, but the froth is very sparkly.

Stitching, ribbons, stamping… how does she do it?

I love everything about this one: the colors, the embossing, the sparkle, the sentiment.

The handmade card holder is a nice personal touch.

A picnic invitation you can’t refuse. She stitched this napkin !

This is just one corner of Elise’s studio. Most of the products she works with are from Stampin Up, but she gathers goodies from all sources. Isn’t she the best? Contact Elise at [email protected]. She is a rep for the Stampin Up company if you fall in love with anything from their website/catalogue.
