New Series: BOTB

Sunday, April 3rd, 2011

Greetings and happy weekend!  I am trying out a fun new weekend series called “Best of the Blogosphere” or “BOTB” for short.  I better be careful not to mistype that ‘T’ !  This series will be a roundup of the best of home improvement and decorating that we see in blog land.

When I say ‘we’ I mean I’m in cahoots with some new Contributive Writers recently brought on board.  Together with my accomplices, we will be scouring the internet, looking for the most inspiring and original creations!  We live for it, we love it, we can’t get enough of it.  And we will be bringing it to you!  Let’s kick if off shall we?

Have a look at these stylish yet functional built-in spice shelves over at Tidbits from the Tremaynes.  With some help from her handy dad, Mandi fashioned all the details, and then completes the look with her custom labeled spice jars.  Now we’re ready to fire up the power tools and take advantage of some space in the walls!

Creative and Crafty in 2009

Monday, December 28th, 2009

I can’t believe this year is almost over, and come to think of it, an entire decade !   2009 has  flown by at record speed.  It’s true what they say, “The days are long but the years are short”, and boy do they get shorter every year !

Anyway, I thought I’d post a roundup of some of the non-holiday focused crafty and creative projects I’ve completed in this past year, especially for those friends who are new to this blog.  Last week was a roundup featuring thirty of my Before & Afters of 2009.  Check it out right here if you missed it.

Now for the creative and crafty roundup !

This Ballard Designs inspired laundry room drying rack was a cinch to put together and the effort has paid off handsomely.  It dries all our delicates and sweaters.  Love it !  It was also featured on Apartment Therapy !

Inspired by Restoration Hardware, I framed some vintage skeleton keys I found at a local salvage shop.
