Seasons greetings all, together with my two other judges Courtney and Rhoda, we’ve finally settled on the winners for the HomeGoods Tablescape Contest. I cannot tell you how difficult this really was to judge, there were over 175 submissions via link and email, and so many were just gorgeous. How to choose? Well, we narrowed it down to the top 16 then voted again based on style, affordability, and creativity. It was extremely difficult, but finally here are the four winners and some other very honorable mentions. These holiday tablescapes are sure to inspire you all.
Let’s start with the three runners up, who will all receive a $50 Gift Card:
Pear ornaments and mercury glass pair beautifully on this simple outdoor tablescape set by Jordan at The Happy Homebodies for her ladies church group for Christmas. We loved the warm browns next to the cool shimmering mercury glass. The simple yet stunning branch centerpiece combines spray painted glittery branches with more natural manzanitas.
Several DIY projects combined to create this magical New Year’s Eve table over at Commonplace Beauty. $4 accent plates were the inspiration, and we’re head over heels in love with the inexpensive glam chargers created with a “pound of bling”. Don’t miss the gold garland dollar store vases, they’re so pretty! Bravo Heather!
Jess over at Events That Sparkle pulled together this stylish and budget savvy winter wonderland tablescape in unconventional violet that wowed us all, and all her DIY touches make this table the place to be for her family that celebrates both Christmas and Hanukkah. Just fabulous Jess!
Drumroll please…
The Grand Prize Winner of a $100 Gift Card to HomeGoods…
We loved the cozy outdoor setting, and the use of a plaid ‘Camp Blanket’ as the inspiration for the color palette. The use of everyday white plates, contrasting black napkins, red flatware coupled with textural burlap, twigs and berries make this Christmas tablescape universally appealing to all. The glass hurricanes tiered on cedar platforms are the perfect centerpiece for this inexpensive welcoming outdoor scene. Simple, stylish, creative, and affordable! Hop on over to see the full outdoor tablescape ~ congratulations Michelle!
And congratulations to the top four winners, please contact me ASAP so I can get your address to send your gift cards!

Honorable Mentions that made judging this contest nearly impossible:
Jen at The Decor Scene created a gorgeous centerpiece for her holiday table that works for any occasion from Thanksgiving to New Year’s plus she offers up some helpful tips for how to layer a table.
Traditional Thanksgiving tablescape by Stone Gable filled with all the colors and warmth of autumn and the bounty of Thanksgiving. Such gorgeous leaf motif napkins and lovely pear accent bowls!
Here’s another simple yet inspiring setting, this elegant Thanksgiving table at Baylor Says decorated in fresh whites with a pretty orange runner and some simple gourds as accents.
A Burberry scarf makes a great runner, together with green bottle candleholders and gold chargers over at Our Fifth House, love it!
And here are two email submissions which stood out, first this beautiful apple green and brown tablescape by Bev S., how clever are the upside down martini glasses as candleholders?
Laura T. submitted this pretty peacock inspired table saturated with layers of beautiful blues and hints of gold with a collection from both HomeGoods and the Dollar Store, lovely!

Greetings lovelies! I do hope you all had a fabulous fall weekend. It was pouring down rain all weekend around here, so the paint on my lovely credenza is still drying due to cold temperatures. I soooo wanted to get all my files organized this weekend, but it was not meant to be. My office is a straight up disaster zone, so I’ve got absolutely nothing for ya! But who cares about that because today is all about YOU!
It’s time for the ‘Mom Cave’ Link Party, sponsored by HomeGoods! The top prize is a $250 gift card to HomeGoods, and there will also be four runners up, each winning their own $50 gift card to HomeGoods.

How does your existing ‘Mom Cave’ help you stay organized, unwind, or simply be a better Mom?

My friends, I’m inspired this week. Inspired to make changes, inspired to inject color, inspired to make my home serve our needs better. Why? Why the lovely Elaine Griffin, that’s why! You may recall I reviewed her book last year, and was delighted to find so much practical advice from one of the Top 100 Designers named by House Beautiful.
I had the opportunity to talk to Elaine last week, and it was like we were long time BFFs. She has the most valuable advice to give, and quite frankly, one of the kindest voices in the biz. It goes without saying I am a fan forever. In anticipation of the big Mom Cave Link Party coming up next week (ladies, mark your calendars!), here’s a few Q & A’s exchanged between the incredible Ms. Elaine and little ol’ me.
Q: How did the idea of the ‘Mom Cave’ originate?
HomeGoods conducted a national poll of 1000 people and it revealed that 56% of moms don’t have a space to call their own! Of those moms, 7 out of 10 said they would "love a space all for me"! They asked me (Elaine) to come in and help visualize what a Mom Cave would look like so that any woman (moms or not) could have one, no matter what size space they had or budget. So I designed three spaces as examples to kick off this new concept and inspire ladies to create a space that belonged just to them.
CG Note: Having a hard time focusing when gazing on these incredible saturated teal paneled blue walls with white, green, and gold accessories. Swoon.
Hi all – I have some exciting news to share! The kind folks over at HomeGoods are sponsoring a fantastic contest with me, and five of you will be the winners! We all know HomeGoods as the one stop shopping place for frugal yet fabulous home decor.
Recently, HomeGoods has partnered with Elaine Griffin, designer extraordinaire, (whose book I reviewed last year) to create the concept of a ‘Mom Cave’. A what? Yes, I said a ‘Mom Cave’.
Of course, we’ve all heard of the Man Cave, but this is a new twist on the idea with the busy Mom in mind! How gorgeous is this ‘Mom Cave’ space designed by Elaine Griffin?
Well I have some very exciting news ! I’m hosting a ‘Mom Cave’ link party for all of you, and the prizes will be BIG!
The top prize is a $250 gift card to HomeGoods.
Four runners up will receive a $50 gift card to HomeGoods.
