Hello hello, the day has come, it’s time for the Pinterest Challenge friends!  We issued this Summer Edition challenge last week and we can’t wait to see what you’ve created!  There are link parties galore going on today, hosted by Young House Love, Bower Power, Ten June, and also right here, so it’s time to show us what you got with a link to your Pinterest inspired project below!

What inspired me for this round?  Well, I’ll tell ya!  I’m working on a makeover in the kids’ playroom space, turning it into a study, since they’re in elementary school now.  It’s a space for them to read, to do homework, or just chill with their friends.  We had a circular table in the space (seen here) but with the new window seat we built from IKEA cabinets, that table was looking disproportionally small, so I imagined a larger chunkier more substantial rustic table in that space to give cool contrast to all the white.  Time to flex my DIY power tools muscles and build a brand new table, booyah!   

Here’s our new X base table Matt and I built for this space! 

It’s a gorgeous handmade table made of kiln dried Douglas fir that we bought from a local lumber supply company.  This is the first piece of furniture we’ve ever built together, and it’s customized for this space.  We used these five tables as our “Pinspiration” !

Alright how many of us are on Pinterest, storing up all those great ideas we love and planning on actually tackling them “someday”.  Well friends, that someday is here!  Perhaps you’ve seen this throwdown around the blogosphere before – it was started by co-hosts Sherry of Young House Love and Katie of Bower Power last year and continues today.  Yep, it’s time for another round of the Pinterest Challenge and this is the Summer Edition! 

I’m cohosting with the above mentioned blog friends (who I finally got to meet face to face at Haven – woot!) plus my buddy Michelle from Ten June!  This brunette band of DIY lovin’ ladies is issuing another throwdown, and we hope you’ll say “Game on!”

Time to take a close look at your Pinterest boards and all those projects you’ve been meaning to get to, choose one, and get ‘er done!  I’ve got so many ideas stored up on my boards, but I’m totally obsessed with one in particular, can’t wait to finally make it happen!   

So, what will yours be?  It’s time to try out a new recipe, paint a piece of furniture, craft, create, or sew – all projects are welcome, big or small.  Anything goes as long as the inspiration comes from an idea you spy on Pinterest.

Here’s how it works:  No project is too big or too small!  Pick any project you have pinned or one you have seen on Pinterest and tackle it for your post.  Then write up your completed project and include a link to the Pinterest inspired project on Tuesday, July 10th, you’ve got one week!  Please be sure to link to the original source of the Pinterest inspired project too.  There will be link parties on that day by the co-hosts, so add your Pinterest Challenge project to any or all of them and link back to your hostess too.
