Best of the Blogosphere

BOTB is back!

Sunday, January 15th, 2012

Hello all, happy Sunday!  I’ve decided to bring this series back twice a month to showcase all the fabulousness going on out there in the blogosphere!  I enjoyed the break, but there’s nothing I love more than a great DIY project or a fantastic before and after, so let’s kick of the first BOTB of the year with a few favorites.  Amanda returns, teaming up with me to share a few of her favorite links too…

If a kitchen makeover is on your New Year’s Resolutions list, then be sure to read Melissa’s tutorial how to paint kitchen cabinets. See how she refinished hers at 320 Sycamore.

Speaking of kitchen renovations, we’re loving the charcoal cross section fabric on Jen’s DIY pendant lights. Check out the full post at Tatertots and Jello.

When Belva June emailed me a few pictures a couple weeks ago, I shared this on Facebook, but she finally wrote up a post about her Billys to Built-Ins so I had to share it here too!  She adds a space for a TV and some fresh pops of yellow, bravo girl!

Final BOTB!

Sunday, December 4th, 2011

Greetings everyone, happy Sunday!  I’ve got most of my gift shopping done, thanks to a whirlwind (and kid less!) trip yesterday, feeling great about that. We’re decorating the tree and mantel today, but I wanted to pop in with one more round of the ‘Best of the Blogosphere’ before calling it quits with the series for the year. Here’s a few ideas we spied (Amanda and I) from around the blogosphere over the past couple of weeks.

We’ve seen plenty of pallet decor this year, but we’re absolutely loving this more polished version of a recycled pallet coffee table by Refreshed Decor, Kacey’s handy husband built this one!

Mrs. Devore created a divine sawhorse desk for $10, wow!  Visit Dwellings by Devore to read how she pulled it off.

Greetings all, and happy fall!  It’s raining today and the leaves are falling from all of the trees. It’s pretty but kind of sad, I’ll miss all those gorgeous autumn colors. Today it finally feels like winter is on its way, brrrrr!  To take our minds off the approaching chill of winter, how about a look at some inspiring projects from around the blogosphere?   Abi and I teamed up again to bring you our recent favorites.

Here’s a wonderful wood accent wall, this one made from pallets by Chris and her husband over at Just A Girl, perfect in her son’s room!

This Drexel Heritage campaign desk was brought back to life by Mary at Because I Like to Decorate.  She’s got an all natural recipe for polishing up brass hardware too.

Traci and her husband built a brand new pantry themselves!  Traci has a new paint sprayer that she raves about, read all about it at Beneath My Heart.

G’day all, hope all is well! I got back from Atlanta very very late Friday night, and it seems it took until this morning to recover!  Whew, travel wipes me out these days, and I felt like being lazy with my family for the last 36 hours. I’ll share more of what I did back east tomorrow.

Now I’ve got my coffee and I’m ready to talk DIY!  People, you are amazing, I mean really. I just love love love reading about all of these incredible projects, what did we ever do without the blogosphere before?  Consider me completely inspired yet again this week. Amanda and I are back, teaming up to bring you our favorites in this continuing weekend series, enjoy!

No this is not an image from a catalog, these are the newly transformed bookcases by Jilly and Mia trimmed out with new arches, aren’t they completely gorgeous?
