Get the Look: Blue + White Pattern

By Kate Riley March 19, 2015

This spring Pantone’s Classic Blue is among the lineup of featured colors and in the latest House Beautiful Egyptian Blue was in the spotlight. The names for shades of blue are endless and the blue and white pairing is very on trend in both fashion and interiors, while block print, indigo dye, and shibori patterns continue to be popular in textiles.

The blue and white combo is a classic! Instead of simple solids, consider these fresh patterned favorites for decorating around your home this season:

splatter lamps / origami pillow / dreambirds vase / indigo octagon pillow / bistro stool / bridal veil / school of fish linens / scribble curtain / trellis plates / ayla pillow / medallion rug

You’ll hear no complaints from me, the blue and white pairing will always be a favorite!

  1. Oh I love the blue and white! I passed up a blue and white large pitcher yesterday at the thrift store because I scored so many other great things, like a brass and vinyl Hollywood Regency stool, but I may have to stop back by today to see if it is still there. Fingers crossed. You’ve inspired me to jump in with both feet to blue and white.

  2. Jen I have that same rug in my daughter’s room in lavender and it is FAB! Love the pattern and it’s a great quality rug.

  3. I LOVE blue and white together. Its such a beautiful and classic pairing that I can drool over it for days and theres so much flexibility with it!

  4. I have some RH Madeleine style dining chairs & was trying to find a similar feeling pair of barstools without being matchy-matchy. The Kohl’s bistro stool is a nice find! I’m going to look into!! TY

  5. You can never go wrong with blue and white! I love the color combination especially since it’s so classic and chic. P.S. Those patterned pillows are to die for.

  6. So charming! I tend to like white and paler colors for anchor pieces and walls, but that just means I can accent with a pop of pattern in that beautiful, saturated blue!

  7. Those 3 models are dressed up like 3 willow-ware platters that they will Never Eat From! Ha ha! But I love the blue and white; it so perfectly marries a little victorian prim & proper with desirable asian exoticism! And who doesn’t need access to both?
