Fave Fall Boots

By Kate Riley September 16, 2014

Y’all it’s fall boot season! This is the footwear I get most excited about and yesterday I fell down the rabbit hole otherwise known as “online fall boot shopping”. It’s still too hot here for wearing fall boots but those cooler days are coming, and I just couldn’t wait, I lined up all my favorites in my closet yesterday in anticipation and treated myself to these sassy platform ankle boots for autumn. Yeow!

  1. Have a deep hankering for Le Chameau Paris LD Jersey. Sadly not under $100 though. Love the combat/flat selection . . . I’m 60 . . . am I too old for combat?? I suspect so.

  2. I just love the look of boots for fall and winter, but I’m still searching for a really comfy pair! I just ordered three pair rom Zappos this morning. Hopefully I will find a winner in the group!

  3. I am also 60 and love my boots. I am a devoted fan of FRYE boots. My first pair of boots were a gift from my husband in 1971. I still wear them. Over the years he has gifted me with several other styles of FRYE boots and shoes. The styles and fit are great. YEAH for September and wearing my boots!

thanks for sharing your love for boots!

    I love your blog.

  4. Are they saying “Ya’ll” now in Cali or are you just a Southern Girl at heart??? ; )

Love the boots, and love that you are sharing stuff that’s reasonably priced, that the everyday Southern Girl can afford!!!

Still lovin’ your blog from here in the heart of the South, Raleigh, NC!!

  5. I had fallen in love with Doc Martins` navy pattern-lined boots, and when shopping with my (adult) daughter saw a brilliant pair in the hot pink, patent-leather. WHOA!! I mentioned how “cool” [yes I’m that old] they were and was quickly told ” Mum, your far too old for those, geeez! “. I had no intention of buying the bright pink army style boots; I realize I am a chubby, fifty-three year old…but boy, if I were thirty years younger, WATCH OUT!

  6. Ooh I love boots, you’ve inspired me to go shopping! I’ve been eyeing some shorter boots just like the pair you got, but now those ombre boots are screaming at me, “take me home!” :)

  7. Oh my yes! I bought some Bella Tall black buckle boots! I have no idea why, however! I just loved them and they were so cute and on sale! So…..we will see. Hopefully they will look good on my feet and I will love, love them!

  8. I love boots! I live in them all winter (I’m in Michigan after all!) But I refuse to wear mine until the first day of Fall – which thankfully is this weekend! YAY, I’ll be breaking out the boots. For the record, I’m 47 and don’t believe there is an “age” where tall boots are inappropriate, despite what “fashion” may say. Boots are practical and always stylish!

  9. I bought a pair of suede Sam Edelman booties in putty, can’t wait to wear them if our temps would ever cool down here in Dallas! Last yr I splurged on a fabulous pair of black Frye boots:)

  10. I’ve been eyeballing some boots like the tan combats boots shown here. I’m just trying to find a pair of shoes to part with first. Rule in my house is when you buy a pair of shoes, another pair has to go.
