Amanda and I hunt down these ideas from all over the internet, and bring the best of what we spy to you in this bimonthly series. Here are our latest finds sure to inspire you!

  1. Thank you Kate & Amanda for featuring my wood planked quilt wall art! I must admit this round up is one of my favorites (and not just because my project is included :)) but more so because all of the projects are DIY builds (or makes) anyone can do. You’ve hit the mark with this BOTB and a special spot in my heart. Thank you.

  2. In love with that fireplace makeover! Maybe after my husband and I get done with our kitchen renovation we can start to work on other pieces of our house.

  3. Love all of these ideas! Especially the two-toned dresser. I’m trying to convince my boyfriend to build us one from scratch for our bedroom. Our project list is long, but hopefully one day! Also, love the baby gate. I’ll have to definitely remember that one in the future!

  4. This is so fun. I saw that industrial shelving post over at DIY Showoff and loved it then. Seeing it again here just made me love it more. I’ll make sure to check back for more BOTB posts!

  5. I love BOTB! You always bring us the best ideas! Thanks for all the work you do in finding great projects – I usually end up pinning several of them and they always inspire. Every project in this BOTB is so creative and wonderful!

  6. All great projects, but I am a bit concerned that there might be too much space underneath the baby gate. A baby’s head could get stuck there

  7. What a great round up, thanks for including the Ikea hack farmhouse table. I love that plank wood art, such a great statement piece.

PS, I’m the new blog assistant over at East Coast Creative! :)

    Thanks again,

    Diana :)

  8. Regarding the wood slatted fireplace, as pretty as it is, it is NOT fire code compliant.

    http://www.finehomebuilding.com/how-to/qa/fireplace-mantel-and-surround-clearances.aspx

Section 1001.11 of the IRC (2006 edition), Exception 4: “Exposed combustible mantels or trim may be placed directly on the masonry fireplace front surrounding the fireplace opening providing such combustible materials are not placed within 6 in. of a fireplace opening. Combustible materials within 12 in. of a fireplace opening shall not project more than 1/8 in. for each 1-in. distance from such opening.”

  9. How exciting to see my pantry makeover/shelves featured! Thank you so much! Love the other projects too – such talent!
