With the busy holiday season in full swing, so many prefer a quick and easy craft that doesn’t take too much time or cost a lot of money. A few weeks ago, we created this sweet and simple paper medallion banner to spread Christmas cheer on the kitchen mantel.
The paper medallions were created with gift wrap, paper snowflakes, and chipboard letters – this is a fun project for kids and one that can be reused year after year.
To recreate, here’s what you’ll need: 30” wrapping paper, chipboard letters, craft glue, glitter, double sided tape, paper snowflakes, hot glue, twill ribbon.
1) Apply glue to chipboard letters then coat with glitter, allow to dry. 2) Cut a 7” long strip of wrapping paper then cut it in half. 3) Fold paper back and forth every 1” into a fan shape, 4) repeat for second piece and secure together with double sided tape. 5) Secure snowflakes to paper medallion (I used snowflakes from this kit), 6) attach glittered cardstock letters to paper medallions and secure to twill ribbon with hot glue.
Pick any seasonal sentiment from “peace” to “merry” to recreate your own!

The medallions are so beautifully done and a great idea for that space. I can imagine smaller-sized ones for the tree as well. I love medallions for any holiday. I just wanted to compliment you on your line of paper products-they’re great patterns and colors. I can imagine the amount of work it took to get it launched. Love this project, Kate! I am busy making batches of Paper Poinsettias for gifts and our home – you would love them! Next up though is this Medallion Banner. I made my own Merry Christmas Paper Banner Years ago – I will take a photo and try to email you the pic, along with a snapshot of my poinsettias in the making. This is just gorgeous!!! I would love to make a reusable Happy Birthday version for my three boys. Merry Christmas!!
