It was a weekend full of activity for us and I bet yours was too! I managed to take a few more images of our home in between the busyness of the seasonal activities and obligations. Nester is hosting her annual party today so the timing is perfect to share a few more snapshots from our abode.
For those who visit, you know my decorating style is light and bright, clean and simple. This year I spent much less time on the holiday decorating process because when it starts to feel more tedious instead of joyful, that’s when it’s time to pull back and focus instead on the feelings that come from enjoying the moments of the season rather than the pressure to put on a big show.
In December, I love a mix of natural greenery and sparkle, so I picked up a few little trees and a wreath at my local nursery and Trader Joes which you’ll see scattered about. The rest of the embellishments are just baubles and trinkets pulled from the bins of Christmas favorites.
The palette this year is silver, gold, and verdant green. Evergreen branches and pale poinsettias are the seasonal botanicals I’ve brought indoors and both are easily discarded and swept up when the season is over in a few short weeks.
See more pictures of our tree here and the mantel here, and I’m linking up to Nester’s Tour of Homes today… link up yours too if you’ve snapped a few images of your spaces all dolled up for the season!
.
Just stunning! I love the artwork above the couch and your tree is magazine perfect.
Your home is beautiful! Love the colors that you used and that it looks gorgeously decorated and festive but not overdone. Thanks for sharing!
So incredibly fresh and pretty! I really love how you styled your fireplace mantle, with the two white trees in urns at both sides. White trees are my newest Christmas decorating crush! Have a wonderful Christmas season, Kate.
Beautiful, Kate.. love your decorating…
Where did you get your dining room curtains, gold frames in the formal living room, and bench in hallway. Thanks….

So lovely. I’m sayin to know where you got the framed metallic snowflake sitting on your living room console. I love it.
So pretty Kate and I know what you mean about how decorating can become tedious. Kind of defeats the purpose :) Love the colors and tree! Sharing on my facebook today.

Kate
Love your style and your ideas. Have you posted your pics on Pinterest yet? Would love to pin a few. Thanks.
It’s all beautiful, Kate! I love seeing your house at Christmas each year. I especially like the way your photos look magazine-worthy, but it looks as if a family really lives at your house and enjoys it!
I always look forward to you sharing your Christmas decor, Kate! Chic and timeless, just as expected, talented friend!!
That’s it! I am verdant green with envy. You’re kill in’ me here! Simply amazing.
Beautiful! Your holiday decor is absolutely stunning. Better than most magazines.
Kate! So pretty! I love how you continued the green and sparkles throughout your home- very cohesive and gorgeous. Your photos get better and better!
Your home is beyond gorgeous! The vignettes all around are stunning!!

Your home is always so gorgeous! Love your Christmas decor!

Kate
Beautiful as always! Great colour choices!
I love the Moravian stars on your tree! Where did you find these? I can only seem to find glass ones but I love the white.
Simply gorgeous!
Love your style!
Kate, your home is lovely once again! I love the bench and ceramic stool (not sure if that’s what that is?) at the base of the stairs with the presents as accents. Can you share where you found the stool at? I see versions of these in magazine spreads but never in stores.
Did you stucco the front of your home? If so, what color did you use?
Hi Meg, yes that is stucco, as I recall the color is “Egg Cream” (I think) and it’s a pale yellow.
Breathtaking – and such a calm and peacefulness about it all. Just beautiful!
Just curious where you store all of Christmas decor during the year… Do you have a dedicated storage area just for Christmas stuff? Indoors and climate controlled, etc.
Thank you Lori, I store all my Christmas stuff in big plastic bins – we have a closet under the stairs where I hide/store it all.
You always inspire me with your Christmas designs. So beautiful!
Beautiful, Kate! Looks straight out of a magazine. Merry Christmas to you and your family. :)
Hi Kate:
Call me crazy, but I always get a little giddy when I see my in box with a post from you. I marvel at your designers eye…..I often wonder, did you always re arrange your bedroom growing up?
Two Questions:
One, the faux fur on the chair is scrumptious, is that readily available to the public?
two, since I don’t often ask questions and just read and marvel and repin, should I return to this post to check on a reply?
God Bless your Holiday,
Meg
Hi Megan, I answer questions here and via email. Thanks for the kind compliment! I linked to the sheepskin rug here:
http://www.centsationalgirl.com/2013/12/joining-the-club-sheepskin-rugs/ the faux fur blanket I picked up a few years ago at Pier One (they have a few this season).
The other touch of fur is a Mongolian lambswool pillow cover draped along the back of the opposite chair, hope that answers your question!
Kate
You’ve got THE most beautiful house I’ve seen online or in person. You’ve got quite the eye for color and placement. It’s always a pleasure to see your house.
Wow, thank you Linda, that’s very very kind. :)
Love your decorations sooo much, so fresh and love the pop of that apple green <3<3<3
Makes me want to re do my whole house , but sticking with gold and red for this year.
Merry Christmas Centsational girl, I enjoy your decor and tips all year long !!
Our home is undecorated so far (except for a swag and wreath on the front door) as I was traveling for work quite a bit following Thanksgiving. We finally got our tree this Sunday, but it’s been sitting in the garage. I haven’t visited your blog in a while because I’ve been so busy but was drawn to check it this morning — and it was just the boost I needed to get inspired and start decorating. When you start to look at decorating as a “must do,” it stops being fun and the desire goes away. Thanks so much for the inspiration to get going (for the right reasons) and for all the beautiful ideas. Your tree is … breathtaking.
Your home tour is, without a doubt, one of the most beautiful I have ever seen!!!!! Perfection and warmth! :)
Everything looks so clean and fresh. I like the green berries on your front door wreath. Love the colors with all your neutrals. Very inspiring and peaceful feeling.
Everything is stunning! Your photography makes it all that much better. May I ask what lens you used for these shots?
Kate –
I love the frames in the stairway – they really stand out to me! Do you happen to recall where you got them from?
I love your front porch! The colors are gorgeous!
My goodness! I just love your colors. Very fresh!
I love your dining room table, Kate! Would you mind sharing its source?
What a great style you have Kate! Your home decor is a feast for the eyes and the Christmas scene is no exception..thank you for sharing! Merry Christmas!
Hi Terry, I’ve written about the trestle table here, we got a great deal and it’s held up so well even over a year later: http://www.centsationalgirl.com/2012/10/trestle-table-arrival/ Link to the source in the post.

Love your home. Those are colors and design I am slowly working towards. Kitchen renovation this year which I love. Used a Glidden Paint called Romance which is close to your pale white/blue. Love it. Thank you.
This is so pretty! I would love to know where the gray tufted sofa is from?
Thank
Thanks Kris, I wrote about the sofa here:

Hi Kate, a friend of mine was visiting today and I was raving to her about your blog, so I decided to show her your Christmas tour. I stopped at the picture of your dining room table when I spotted your round, french dining chair. I have the exact same chairs, but they’re bar stool height. I found them at Marshall’s and have been looking for matching, standard height chairs. Please tell me where you found yours. I know restoration hardware and world market sell similar items, but the ones at world market have a darker finish and mine are sort of a blonde color and have the unfinished look. It seems like yours do as well. Thanks!
Where did you get this beautiful sofa? I have been searching high and low for this look. I’m hoping you can remember and that they still have this style.
Thanks!
