ScotchBlue™ Painter’s Tape & The Home Depot’s "Ready, Set, Paint" Blog-Hop

By Kate Riley May 15, 2013

Greetings everyone, this summer I’ll be hosting a a fabulous event in partnership with ScotchBlue™ Painter’s Tape and The Home Depot! It’s a Summer Blog Hop where two dozen bloggers will be getting creative with ScotchBlue Tape and the links to all the projects will be found right here – the projects featured will help inspire this year’s painting season! painter's tape, scotchblue painter's tape, tape

I’ve been using ScotchBlue Painter’s Tape for such a long time, it’s my go-to tape whenever I’m working on furniture or painting doors. This brand doesn’t grab like traditional masking tape but sticks just enough to paint perfect stripes or line up hardware – even on top of freshly painted surfaces and it won’t pull up the paint, I love that.3M Tape Projects CG

I started the big summer event with this dresser makeover, click on the image to read the full details using ScotchBlue tape and products purchased at the Home Depot.scotchblue and home depot before and after

  1. I love that blue painter’s tape too! But so do my kids. They are always stealing it for their own fun projects, like creating toys out of cardboard boxes. Can’t wait to see the DIY projects come in. Yeah!

  2. I love this tape..was organizing my tools & paints over the weekend & realized I had 5 rolls going! Looking forward to the projects so I can use up all the rolls on hand!
    Kelly

  3. I love the blue painter’s tape… but I do not like Home Depot. I have had lots of bad experiences with them and their products.

I also like the dresser better blue than after you painted it… no offense personally !

But the tape works great !

  4. Just realized they are different dressers…. sorry !

I am not much for stripes so I get distracted by that which I do not like.

  5. You’ve sold me before on the Painters Tape and love it. I’ve been debating doing a big statement wall in our master bedroom using it, but I need to talk myself into it first. It’d be fun, but tedious. :) Maybe perfect for a summer distraction. Can’t wait to see all the projects. What a fun idea.

  6. Great site! Love this tape. My husband and I recently tried some of the Home Depot brand, HDX I think and it didn’t stick like I wanted it to. Ended up going back and getting the Scotchblue tape with the green label and it worked perfectly.

  7. Geometry teachers everywhere must be super proud of all the DIY’ers who can figure out how to create all those amazing shapes and patterns using a straight-line. I love painters tape.

  8. Such great ideas! I love painters tape. From helping with perfect caulk lines to painting exact and straight edges, it is the most versatile tool in my tool box.

  9. I have been wanting to paint stripes on something. I think it is time to pull the trigger. Thanks for the inspiration!

  10. I love that tape! I’ve used it most recently for painting lamps — creating sharp lines and making sure the paint doesn’t get to the electrical bits!

  11. Sad for the end of summer, but maybe cooler weather will inspire me to do some more painting projects

  12. I can’t even paint a simple wall with small window, without painters tape. So yeah, this stuff is pretty awesome.

  13. I love all the inspiration! Though I am a little confused… The post says not to leave a comment, yet the raffle copter I instructs you to leave a comment. Either way, this post has motivated me to get going on that furniture makeover I’ve been meaning to do! :)

  14. I love the IKEA dresser hack that you did at the beginning of the summer. I’d love to do something similar in our Master bedroom on day. But right now I’m waiting until we buy a house and redesign our bedroom. Many of these other projects are fantastic. I might have to try a few of those, too.

  15. I right in the middle of painting our house so we can put it on the market. Tape would sure come in handy!

  16. Would love to paint a rug/floor cloth in the pattern DIY Maven used (maybe not quite as complicated!) using Scotch Blue Painters Tape to lay out the pattern.

  31. So many cool ideas here. I have a dresser that needs updating. I would love to try the stripes on it.

  32. I can’t wait for the summer to end here so I can work in my garage when it’s not 110! I have so many projects piled up and several will require taping!

  34. Love this giveaway! I need to win this since I have a very long list of projects that need done around my house. I have a lot of painting in my future!

  35. I have a few rolls of it because we use it for strange other things as well. Like getting things out of the lint trap in the dryer. And removing lint.

  36. Wow, these ideas are so creative! I don’t have a very steady hand but these make me want to try anyways.

  41. I’ve got some great dressers that could use a creative paint job. $500 to Home Depot would definitely make that happen!

  55. We need to get started on building a small workshop so we have a place to keep our tools and a place for me to paint furniture. This prize could set the wheels in motion!
