Retail Therapy: World Market

By Kate Riley April 22, 2013

Yesterday I took a few hours to run errands and visit some favorite stores to check out new collections and popped into World Market. My sister is also fixing up her place so we were texting pictures back and forth, talking about the pieces and accents and textiles we like, it’s so much fun to shop like that!

World Market unveils several collections throughout the year but I always look forward to the outdoor options, full of color and exotic patterns, and picked up some accents there last year for our balcony seating area. I spied a lot of new favorites while I was there on Sunday – I especially love their patterned textiles for a variety of uses beyond the tea towel or napkin (think art and pillows!)

  102. I adore World Market and anything coral! Would love a gift card to help decorate my new place I’ll be in June!

  103. My main kitchen/ dining nook colors are red and yellow. Last year I put in a little apple green- but this year I am thinking of either orange or an old fashioned aqua .

Liking yellow gray and white for my bedroom , but find most bedding in those colors is fairly modern, and my furniture is not…..

  116. I found some striped sunbrella pillows at Costco. Now I am trying to decide what colors to use with them.

  117. We plan to put in more garden and less yard, so I am on the lookout for interesting lighting and colorful plant containers. Blue, yellow, purple, green, red ~ any saturated color :)

  118. I am hoping to bring in more teal and coral! I hope the teal makes the coral seem more manly so my husband doesn’t accuse me

  119. Aqua blue and Yellow…I’m lovin chevron patterns, stripes, and Moroccan designs!

  120. I’d like to bring in some coral. Our back patio is so small and BORING right now and I’d like to spruce it up with a rug and some fun patterned pillows!

  128. I am always drawn to turquoise and yellows as the weather gets nicer. Would love to have a shopping spree at World Market!

  129. I’m loving gray and yellow. Or gray and coral. I like classic, timeless patterns or just plain

  130. I’m using aqua, chartreuse, and natural linen. I haven solid pieces, and I’m on the hunt for prints that combine all three.

  131. My husband just built a deck in our backyard, and I’m using tomato red, teal and green for the outdoor decor. World Market has such a cute collection this year!

  132. I am really liking orange this spring. I am thinking of adding some orange into my turquoise master bedroom.

  133. We just built a new house and have decorated it in all grays and whites. I hope to incorporate some steel blue. As for patterns i don’t know yet! But am loving polka dots and florals!

  134. I love all of the earthy tones at World Market, with pops of aqua & purple. I like patterns that can stand the test of time.

  135. Our patio needs a makeover this summer. I’m going with greens in whatever pattern catches my eye when I finally go shopping.

  136. i definitely want to incorporate green and floral prints. most of my stuff is neutral with simple stripes or spots

  137. I’m decorating in reds, blues, greens, and yellows…with some pops of black and white scattered about. It’s a bright, happy place around here!

  138. I did our bedroom in a masculine blend with charcoal, gray, and white neutrals and walnut wood tones. I’m now bringing in my feminine pieces with some patterned accessories, gold accents, and of course spring flowers. I love this season!

  139. I’m trying to bring in some green. I stick with minimalist pieces/decorating so I just spread out some big clear vases and greenery, branches, leaves, etc. I changed my darker, thicker curtains for white ones also.

  140. I’m decorating with blues and greens outdoors. I love the neutrality and calmness those colors evoke

  141. This spring/summer I’m decorating with sunny yellow thrown in with some girly pink and maybe a bit of my favorite color, navy blue.

  144. I was just there today looking at all the patterns! I’m doing black and white cabana stripes on the patio..classic with some color accessories!

  145. I love the colors of the ocean… blues/greens…. maybe aqua…. cool and refreshing.

  146. I really really love World Market! I have fond memories of getting lost in the exotic food sections as a little kid.

I love the marrakesh patterns – the quatrefoil especially! They are terrific in bright colors!

  147. I’m obsessed with red and turquoise lately. This is life changing for me, I used to be a neutrals girl. I don’t know what’s come over me! I know, I know, I’m living on the edge.

  148. Wow, what a generous giveaway. I’m going with a somewhat Moraccan theme. I’ve ordered some beautiful Malta and Darien lanterns from Pottery Barn. I can’t wait for some warm nights, sitting on the deck with the glow of the candles from the lanterns.

  149. We are currently painting my daughters bedroom a soft lilac, and I love it! It’s a breath of fresh air from all of the pink (her former favorite color now replaced by purple) she has loved for so long!

  150. I always used to do my outdoor decorating with brights: bold yellow, pink, blue, aqua, herby green.

But my husband really prefers simple, rustic styles and when we moved to a new home last summer, I promised him that I’d keep the treehouse-ish feeling of our (very high) deck. I sold all our old outdoor furnishings when we moved, and this summer I’m going to try to replace them with wood and white: mostly wood furniture, with some white chairs or occasional tables. White textiles for outdoors don’t sound terribly practical though. I’m not sure what I’ll do there.

  151. I LOVE World Market! I am overhauling a lot of my outdoor space this spring. I want to purchase or make a swing for the front porch and all of our IKEA outdoor furniture has seen better days so I would love this g.c. to even add some lovely new pillows or art!

  155. I’m adding in a bit of deep tones yellow throughout my living room. I’m feeling a need for color this summer! I sure wish we had World Market in Alaska. I’m currently thinking of biting the bullet and shipping a piece of furniture up here from WM.

  156. We recently painted our kitchen turquoise and for spring I have brought in coral and beige

  157. I found a lime green outdoor pillow on clearance last year and then some lime green and bright blue lanterns a few months later and it kicked off this color palette for our back porch that I am very excited about! Need a rug and some more pillows…maybe a planter or two in the same color scheme to tie it all in!

  158. We just painted our living room and dining room a neutral color that is close to your entry color (Wheeling Neutral by BM). We are trying to go more neutral on our first floor so that everything has a better flow.

  159. I’ve been stuck in the earthy brown and green colors in our living areas. I’m trying to incorporate fresher brighter colors because I’m a little bored

  161. I’m loving beachy accents. And maybe a little ikat doesn’t hurt. Also, wanting to mix in more blues.

  166. I have a large front porch. My house is a light tan with an aqua door I have whiite vintage furniture so I like to accent with aqua, cobalt and a touch of lavender.

  167. My spring colors this year are teal, yellow and some hot pink (sorry hubby!). I have never experimented with spring colors before, but have been inspired by the many posts I’m keeping up with. I have to say, my house feels new with every season I’ve experimented with so far….I love it!

  168. We just moved and now have a really great patio/outdoor area and I am so confused on what I should do with it. I really like turquoise, but am afraid it will have had it’s day soon. What do you think about it?

  169. I’m loving emerald this year so I’m trying to incorporate more of that into my decor. I also love the super graphic prints.

  170. I’m loving emerald and the graphic prints and hope to add that to my decor!

  171. I really like the freshness of the coral accessories I have spied in stores lately.

  172. I’m not quite sure yet on color (which is why our house is void of it except my craft room and pantry), but I’m so digging geometric patterns and graphic patterns, like the woven bowls in your picture. Love! I love World Market as well and can always find something to come home with. :)

  173. At present, I am loving gray and yellow together. Would love to win this shopping spree.

  174. We just painted our front door a citron/chartreuse color. There are pops of the color all the way out to the back deck, where it is met with teal and a bunch of other companion colors. World Market’s outdoor mosaic rug – which is GREAT, by the way – anchors the outdoor seating area.

  175. Inside I have a large variety of blues greens and Browns…turquoise teal icy blue robins egg navy etc can be found in every room with a lot of white mixed in for lightness and continuity. Red is one of my husband and oldest sons favorite colors so our front porch back patio and flowers always have plenty of red to make them happy.

I’m carrying the color outdoors onto my recycled brick (thanks, Dad) patio! Also, I plan to put a dining table (weatherproof, of course) smack dab in the middle of my potager, so I envision graphics mixed with botanicals. HOWEVER- I’m loving the “BUG pillows”, AND the paisley with the grey background… that lively pattern and the delicious colors would look great with the grey raised beds and grey pea gravel paths!

  500. Looove World Market. I’ve been adding some red and orange touches around the house lately.

  501. Thanks for the opportunity! I love pillows in soft blues and greens with pops of yellow, all against a neutral backdrop. Love your blog–so inspiring!

  503. I love greens! Green this, green that.. It really makes my backyard feel more vibrant and forestlike.

  504. I just painted over my quatrefoil stenciled living room in navy blue to do an eclectic gallery wall. So I guess my “pattern” would be bohemian thrift store? I did buy a beautiful damask rug from Home Depot. I’ll never think damask is not hip!

  512. We are starting to decorate our porch for the first time! We are looking at using bright green and sea foam green with some neutrals for our outdoor escape. We want to surround the space in plants and flowers and create an oasis we can enjoy evenings and on weekends. We are itching to get started decorating!

  513. We’re in the process of re-painting our home’s interior, changing from warm, sunny yellow to cool, clean gray and white with pops of bright colors like yellow and aqua!

  515. We just moved into our new house & have had a ball picking out paint, easiest decorating anyone can do. What color can do. We chose a bluish/green wall color for the dining & sitting room, distance-by Behr & will be accenting with peacock feather wall paper or a mural (can’t decide). Can’t wait to enjoy the sheer richness as we catch up on the events of the day! In the kitchen we chose Silver mink by Benjamin Moore & will accent with Sunray yellow ( good old Ben Moore) doors & textiles on the window seat to mingle the two. Can’t wait!!

  516. I’m still completely in love with Moroccan tile patterns (have been for years) and want to go with a more global feel for my outdoor deck this year. I’m thinking turquoise, pink, and green for the color palette.

  517. I have been liking turquoise and red inside. Maybe I need to bring them outside too!

  518. Sunflower yellows and greens with a touch of red. Would love that ladybug pillow, would fit right in. Can’t wait to get out and enjoy the outside.

  519. Since we have a big bright blue pool, I’ve been accenting the surrounding seating area with reds and oranges. Up on the deck, though, I want to use cooler blues and greens for al fresco dining and long summer evening conversations.

  520. We’re moving this summer, so I’ll be doing lots of decorating! I’m planning to use blues and greens throughout the main living area, whites and yellows in the master, and possibly red outside.

  521. I have been considering a change for my bedroom. The other day, during a Target walkthrough, my husband mentioned that if the bedroom was on my “list” for a change, he’d like to see gray, black, white in there. Imagine my shock when after 22 years of marriage, he uttered a decorating preference! I am now on the lookout how to incorporate his request with my love of color. I love the bright “punches” of color in my house but I have not one room in his color request! Since this is the first request he’s ever offered, would like to make it work. Would love help with this one!

  522. I always love orange, yellow, and blue, so that’s reflected in a lot of my decorating. Thanks for the giveaway!

  523. I am loving Orange and trying to place a pop of orange color throughout my house this spring! Thanks for the great giveaway!

  524. I love the nautical blues and yellows and will add them to the outside deck this year.

  525. Red is still an exciting color to me. This year the deck needs to be power washed and my thought is to stain it in a red and brown harlequin pattern (house is stained brown; trim is red) and use red pillow accents and umbrella. Great colors that look warm nestled here in the woods….

  526. I’ve been decorating with navy blue, mint green, and coral inside and out this year!

  527. We are getting a new roof–thanks for some serious weather last summer:( So I’m using this opportunity to use black as a base color. Accenting with green cushions with white and purple flowers.

  528. Orange is growing on me and since it’s a natural complement to green and nature I’ve been adding accenting with. I love mixing patterns – chevron ikat and graphic prints in greens, blues and oranges.

  529. We will be decorating the exterior with pops of red using pillows. I would like to mix different patterns.

  530. I’m loving anything with bright fun colors. They add a cheerful pop to our backyard!

  531. I am partial to bright whites with bold pops of color (Orange, Yellows and Blues) in any pattern!

  532. I love World Market also! I am loving to decorate with geometric prints, all shades of blue: mint, light blues and navy. With pops of pink, yellow or light green! And of course I love all things white accented!

  533. I’m leaning towards lots of blues, greys and yellows. I am loving the combinations, and I am definitely preferring some of the more geometric patterns (like the overdone but fab chevrons!)

  534. I LOVE World Market, dream come true to have more moola
to spend there! I am really loving that colorful metal drum
they have, and of course pillows in coral and pinks! So much to love…

  535. I am redecorating our sunroom with a gray and white neutral color scheme and fun pops of coral for pillows and accents!

  536. I’m moving into a new home this summer so I’ll be working with the wall color that is already there- a sort of light goldenrod. Definitely going to be looking into warm tones in browns, oranges, reds, and yellows.

  537. I am looking for coral and turquoise…hope to find some good patterns :)

  538. I’m hung up on blues, greens, and colors in those families. Trying to curb my love affair with ikat prints a bit.

  539. I’ve long had a love affair with navy and grey (not necessarily together), but I’ve been crushing on orange lately. And who doesn’t love a symmetrical, geometric pattern? Thanks for your generosity!

  540. Well, my 7 month old, 100 pound, Saint Bernard shredded of one of my seat cushions that was at the patio table this morning when I took my DD to school. Usually I would have been seriously upset but not this morning, I was doing the happy dance on the inside because now we have to go pick out new seat cushions. Yay!! Finally! I get to pick out something other than standard tan and black. I have spotted a few striped options I like and I know I am definitely going with shades of ocean blue, teal, sea-foam green, and white for my color scheme this year in both the back and front yard. I was finally able to plant flowers in my Tippy Pots yesterday, hopefully Spring is finally here to stay in Michigan!

  541. I just painted my front door black, so I’m trying to decide what accent colors to add. Probably blue and green, my favorites!

  542. We are moving into our new house soon so I have the opportunity to start with a blank canvas. We’re going with shades of blue throught the house from a pale dusty blue in the bedroom to turquoise-y blues and greens in the living room and kitchen to navy in the study. Accents will be colors from the rainbow! Though I am especially fond of shades of orange and yellow.
Also I have to say that I luuuv World Market!

  543. Turquoise & white! Get to do some painting and redecorating in my bedroom so $50 would be great!

  544. I am loving coral and white right now as accent pillows throughout our living room. Fun and bright pops of color for spring/summer!

  545. Metallics, big botanicals, creams, and maybe some coral to go with the turquoise I already have all over! And hopefully some patio furniture this year; I’d love something bright and cheerful like orange or blue.

  546. I am decorating my bedroom in navy and coral and my deck in reds!! I love world market too!

  547. I am loving coral and navy! And teal! We are updating our spring look with those colors.

  548. I’m planing to paint my back doors a shade of turquoise or black in the next couple weeks. I’m looking for outdoor cushions and pillows to brighten the back porch, in blues, greens and yellow.
World Market always has the fabrics I like.

  549. I’m adding orange to my living room :) I have been obsessed with the color for months now! I’m not one for a lot of patterns but flowers lately and simple lines, nothing complicated.

  550. Crushin’ on those corals along with a navy pop. Live by the sea. Hoping to put the two together this summer on my front porch. Just love World Market. Thanks for the opportunity.

  551. I am trying to talk my husband into doing some gorgeous bright colors outside. My most recent colorcrush is tangerine and colbalt blue! LOVE IT! I think it would look great,

  552. decorating my living room in Teal, Yellow & Grey. & family room in darker green & beige with pops of orange. This gift card could be handy!

  553. I am looking for bright colors, like yellow and green. Thanks for the opportunity. Love World Market!

  554. We just moved into a new house and the living room walls are light greige so I am pairing it with aqua, navy and pops of coral.

  555. I’m decorating with navy and yellow. Can’t wait to get some yellow flowers planted.

  556. Greens and blues are my standby, and I’m sticking with those, though trying to move into the brighter tones within that color scheme.

  557. I’m decorating with bright colors (orange, red, aqua) against a neutral background.

  558. I’m heading for yellow and orange this year. I don’t know why, but I’ve already got the flowers for the front porch! It’s still pretty cool out yet, but I’m still planning away.

  559. Decorating my daughter’s “big girl” room in bright pink, orange, and teal.

  560. This summer I’m adding more blues to my entire home. Bright aqua in the kitchen, deep turquoise in the dining area, navy in the living room. I’m very much on a blue kick right now!

  561. I am actually decorating with the exact colors pictured above! Green, Coral, Yellow and Turq! Love the bohemian look. It makes me feel like I’m on vacation in my own backyard. We just purchased a canopy, so we are very excited for summer to come! Thanks for the opportunity to win, you treat us all so well!

  562. Love coral, mint and turquoise! Looking for a new bench – World Market is my next stop!

  563. I don’t have a clue! I will be shopping from what we already have….unless I am the lucky winner! Would love to add some shades of blue and pink to our patio.

  564. Always love my ‘signature’ colors of gray-blue and white but loving’ orange and how great it goes with those colors!

  565. I always love World Market – so affordable and I just love all the global-inspired patterns. This spring I’ve been making pillows with floral patterns. In fact, I just made a couple using World Market napkins!

  566. I’ve decorated with blues and orange and cream colors….did buy some throw pillows and decorator items from World Market….love that place! Pick me!

  567. I’m loving chevron, but my husband still isn’t convinced. But, we’ve been leaning more and more towards beachy tones – blues, greens, tans.

  568. Outside I’m decorating with Aqua, Red, and hints of orange and green. World Market always has the best colors and patterns.

  569. The garden has so much green and brown in it that I’m drawn to yellows and oranges right now. And prints! Great post!

  570. Blue, Green, Gray & Black – just set up 2 small tables on my back porch – one designed for a small potting area with a mirror I mosaic’d hanging above – the other is my bird feeder fill staging area. I love how much neater & inviting it looks!

  571. I like natural wood floors, white paint and a hint of light sea-glass aqua. Lots of items from nature and burlap linens on the table. I’m downsizing so “simplify” is my mantra at the moment.

  572. I’m obsessed with the chevron pattern in black & white or grey & white and a lot of blue & white.

  573. Light blue, light green and bright orange/red as pops of color in our neutral interior. And I’m loving everything stripes!

  574. Light blue, light green and bright orange/red as pops of color in our neutral interior. And I’m loving everything stripes!

  575. I’m redoing my back porch in red, white, black and grey. Also still trying to finish my office/tv room in greyish lavender, white, turquoise and a bit of yellow – colors pulled from a large abstract prin.

  576. I am freshening up my chocolate brown outdoor furniture with pillows and outdoor drapes in green and turquoise! So fun. I could use some World Market accent pieces! Thanks for the giveaway:)

  577. We are bringing out green outdoor area onto the deck with lots of blues and greens, then I hope to accent with some citrus colors! thank you for the give-a-way!

  578. I’m obsessed with mint and greys! And I’m loving subtle chevrons. World Market was one of my favorite stores when we lived in Virginia. Missing them up here in Massachusetts!

  579. Coastal blues and greens and pops of orange. Loving chevron and ikat prints.

  580. Just cleaned off the patio furniture last night. I’m loving the green and blue combo for spring/summer this year!!

  581. I am putting together a home office and will be using some bright colors that I normally don’t use in my neutral/earth tone world.

  582. OOOh, I haven’t been to World Market in a while! They do have some pretty new stuff!

  583. I may be a little late for this trend but I’m loving ikat fabrics these days! I just so happened to make a window shopping stop at World Market yesterday too and I found more than a few things I’d want to put $50 toward!

  584. Thanks for all of your ideas and inspiration! I have been inspired to use white to brighten my kitchen – on the walls and furnishings. This is a big step for me because the built-in hutch and brick walls have been dark brown for so long. The white makes a dramatic change while not disturbing the integrity of my century-old home. I’ve also used African fabrics as table runners. The brilliant hues of the primary-colored textiles make me happy each time I pass by.

  585. We’re doing shades of aqua and teal and everything in between. It’s very calming and serene.

  586. I’ve been looking for ways to incorporate navy. I’m obsessed with it lately!

  587. Chevrons! I’m bringing ’em outside! I’d love to get an outdoor rug for the deck in a bright yellow or pink.

  588. I like to use aqua, green and yellow for spring summer, but I am branching out and adding more gray and less brown for my nuetral these days which is a HUGE step for me!

  589. I’m loving navy and coral, sort of like your daughter’s room. Also, fresh florals for spring!

  590. What fun! Thank you! I am plotting a bathroom coup while my husband is on travel. We can’t afford a full remodel right now, but I can paint! Heh, heh, heh. The nasty brown 70’s cabinet is turning gloss black and that old vinyl floor will be painted with chevrons. Still debating a wall color. I’ll have to visit World Market and see what colors they have in their new collections for inspiration.

  591. My favorite colors to decorate with are earth tones (browns, greens and golds), which always seems boring when I see the colorful homes of all the blog peeps I follow. But I find it so relaxing and homey, so I guess it works for me. I’ve been thinking maybe I should add some more color outside though. Maybe a colorful patio set or some flowers. We’ll see….

  592. I’m still really into the aquas, whites, yellows, with splashes of green. I redecorated my living room with these colors last year and I still haven’t fallen out of love. We are expecting a new baby so I’m also into the greys, whites and (depending on the gender) dark blue and greens or bright pinks and yellows for the nursery!

  593. We are decorating with naturals and yellow. Love this color scheme and can keep it around for a while in Florida!

  594. LOVE World Market! I have been decorating in yellow, green and brown. I love the pops of yellow with the more earthy brown and green. I’m jumping on the chevron and ikat band wagon although I have yet to add it in to my decor anywhere. Which is where a $50 gift card to World Market would come in real handy!

  595. Loving blues and greens. I wish World Market would open a store in Massachusetts!

  596. So loving coral & aqua with a touch of lime green & navy. Also still fascinated by chevron & ikat patterns!

  597. I am loving coral lately. And I just adore gray so it pairs well nicely with it!!
I would love to do my patio in those colors. So fun!
    Thanks!! :)

  600. I will be moving into my first apartment by myself (and finally have a real income) and have been using your blog to think about how to decorate my new home and where to shop. Your question is forcing me to think about what colors I should look out for. I have no idea!! Maybe grey and yellow, or grey and pops of any bright colors?

  601. I love World Market! I’m thinking about incorporating emerald green in my house this summer.

  602. red/white with sky blue on front porch
rich royal colors with Moroccan vibe in the Oasis

  603. i LOVE this store!! One of my favs. I’m movign to a new home and CAN”T wait to get going on my summer outdoor space. I’m feeling like natural elements with rich greens and maybe a few pops of red/orange are happening!

  604. I’m loving aqua and dark pink (think raspberry). I already have the aqua in my bedroom and I’m adding in the pinks now.

  605. Ordering some chevron gold fabric fron spoonflower and want to add a pop of color (coral or emerald green) in ikat. Kitchen is getting redone too and would love some spending $$$

  606. RED!! Love how lively it looks with my pink & red flowers & bright greenery!! Love Old World Market! I’m picking up some napkins to make some pillows! Love your idea of framing one!!

  607. Lately I’ve been decorating with butterflies; it sounds out-of-date but it’s more of a butterfly sketch so I can add color to other areas of the room.

  608. The World Market Store is amazing…They offer so many decorating options
for indoors and outdoors! I like mixing and matching my outdoor decor; like
    the pillows, cushions, etc.!
Many thanks for the fabulous prize giveaway…
    Cindi

  609. We are going to redo our laundry/bathroom. Since we run a business out of our home, this room is also used by our clients. I’m wanting to do something really bright & cheery. Turquoise blue on the walls, white beadboard on the ceiling, new countertop, sink & faucet, vinyl on the floor, and accents of butter/lemon yellow & white. The woodwork will be stained to a cherrywood and I want to put on brushed nickel pulls, etc. This GC would come in quite handy to accessorize.

  610. I’m working on a nursery in navy and coral, my toddler sons room in lime and navy with stripes and chevron and aquas and lime for outdoors ( if I can get to decorating the outdoor area with all of the indoor projects!)

  611. I’m redoing our bedroom with slate gray and seaglass; I’m hoping to do something bright and fun (say coral and cobalt perhaps) on our patio. I’m sticking to stripes, chevron, and ikat this year, although a little floral crept in too :)

  612. I am a new home owner and my project right now is our master bedroom! I painted the walls gray but plan on adding colorful accents and globally-inspired pieces! World Market has been a source of inspiration for me and I am craving the Oatmeal Draper Upholstered Bed as the centerpiece for the room with a teal blue duvet cover to make it pop!

  613. I am hoping to add some fun punches of yellow to our guest room this spring!

  614. Oh oh oh, I’ve been looking at World Market’s rugs, lately, and want to redo my whole living room based off of their Jute Antigua rug.

  615. Love World Market! I’m dying to get some outdoor furniture…probably toward the red department with some aqua accents to tie the outdoors with what I’ve got going on inside. Found you via Young House Love – great blog! :)

  616. Maybe it’s your influence, but I’m all about seaglass blues and greens right now!

  617. Thank you!!
I love coastal living but not the beachy theme.we just knocked down a wall to open up our kitchen ..used light grey walls white cabinets, silver lighting, and touches of light turqouse..

  619. I am switching out my beige/taupe/grey neutrals for some bright summer colors like red/navy/yellow and green. I switch out artwork and pillows and a few accessories for the seasons so I don’t ever get bored with my look! Love World Market, thanks for the giveaway.

  620. Love all of the fabulous summer items from World Market. I could definitely put that gift card to good use.

  621. I am going with black, white, and soft blue with touches of green, and a few wood and tin accent pieces. I’m finally getting around to decorating my very plain/empty covered porch! It’s all white right now, and has one white bench (from World Market!) and two white folding chairs (from Target), and that’s it. No cushions, no nothing. So this summer I am going to repaint the floor with a black and white pattern – I’m thinking diamonds or check (not sure yet); hang outdoor curtains in gauzy white; get cushions for the bench and chairs in black white and soft pale blue; wood and metal end tables; hang mason jar lights and other lanterns from the beams; and…….I could go on and on. ;)

  622. I am completely drawn this spring toward the turquoise/apple green color combo. I’ve always pulled in green, but now I’m loving it with the new shades of blue that seem everywhere this year, and especially this season. I was just in World Market this weekend eyeing some napkins with the blue/green combo to sew up into pillows. (I actually think you did that before and I’m getting up my nerve to pull out the sewing machine.) I also bought two pieces of art on sale. They have such great options for a great price, I couldn’t pass it up. One happens to have the turquoise/apple green combo! Thanks for the giveaway opportunity! My prayers go out to Coco.

  648. My mother’s family is Puerto Rican and I feel like it runs in my blood to decorate with soothing colors of the beach and ocean but also some muy caliente colors that are popular right now. Tribal, worldly, earthy with pops of orange, bright teal, and red are calling to my latin nature. I also LOVE World Market!

  649. I am decorating with red and orange. I live in the southwest and this seems a better fit with my environment to me than blues and greens.

  650. I am loving coral and aqua right now, planning on using them outside on the patio cushions.

  651. I am in the process of finally decorating my place is pattern is the word! For the longest time my place sat empty while I hemmed and hawed over what to do with the space until it hit me, why not embrace my love for all things pattern and use a number of them! I’ve since incorporated a rustic chevron print rug, a mustard yellow damask print lamp shade and many others to combine and make one happy space. :)

  679. I just redid my patio for Spring with lime, turquoise and white. I used a set of windchimes from Sea World to determine my color palette and the 2nd thing I found was outdoor pillows at Lowes with shades of blue and green. 683. For our patio I am going to incorporate turquoise, coral, canary yellow, soft oranges, and some off whites and pale grays. I am loving the chevron and modern jacquard & damask designs, so I am in the process of picking out cushion and pillow fabrics!

  684. I’m loving pinks and grays right now, with some pops of tealish blue. It’s fun.

  685. We need to completely re-build our back deck, so I haven’t even started to think about how to decorate it! I do love everything at WM though – especially geared towards a Moroccan vibe for outdoors!

  686. I need to do something outside on my deck. I would like to incorporate some tans with turquoise. Thank you for the opportunity for a give away! :)

  687. I’m loving bright yellows lately… especially when paired with turquoise blue.

  688. I am decorating with turquoise, purple, and orange with a little red and yellow. A little Moroccan, world travel, and beachy (bc I live 1/2 mile away from the ocean. I have my eye on the gold garden stool!! Thanks for doing this Kate!! You are one of my favorites.

  689. Blues are in every room of my home, but i’d love to add a splash of coral to our master, which is waiting to be re-done. Can’t wait!

  690. I would love some bright colored outdoor pillows, I love all of the bright colors they have this season. Especially the yellows and oranges and teal. I relate to your pillow love. They can transform any space!

  691. I moved in March so I’m trying to have new colors in this home. I’m using navy blue and kiwi in the family room, bursts of orange in the reading, listening to music and watching the sunset room and birds everywhere because we live on Merrywing.

  692. Was recently inspired on my trip to Punta Cana….there was a old wooden red boat floating on the turquoise waters! It was beautiful! So I will be using turquoise and red accents on patio! I love when something so simple inspires!

  693. I am working with the color sandalwood and white…adding starfish and lanterns. Totally beach update!

  694. I’m drawn towards navy these days – it is such a foundational tone – but it is even better when you find it in an Ikat or chevron pattern!

  695. We don’t have a World Market in Oklahoma City; so it’s a special treat we give ourselves whenever we visit family in the Dallas/Ft.Worth area to go the afternoon we leave and stock up at World Market. Currently favoring the oranges and teals.

  696. I have to just say since we are talking about World Market that they have great customer service. We picked oiut a table there that my in-laws gifted us for Christmas last year…when I noticed it cracking down the center about a month ago they made it right immediately. We were able to pick out a different table from World Market…one that was about $150 more than was spent originally…World Market made absorbed the additional cost of the new table!

Needless to say that kind of service made me want to buy ore from them, which I did that day…some cloth napkins that I stitched into pillows for my living room. i plan to feature them on my blog this week…they weather has just been so gray lately i have not been able to get a good photo of them :)

  697. I’m always into blues and greens…but I’m trying to go a bit more modern with my patterns lately.

  698. I’m incorporating some royal blue into my garden this year with a fountain, some glazed pots, a birdbath and some pillows. :)

  699. I’m in the process of totally redoing our porch. Purchased a sectional with gold pillows and found the perfect Tommy Bahama fabric at Joann Fabrics to make pillows and a tablecloth with gold/blue/green in it.

  700. I am adding touches of the verde shade of green to bring the outdoors in and it looks great with my neutral white background.

  701. I’m decorating with more color (blues, atually, and I’ve never been a blue person) and I’m loving the chevron patterns. Can’t get enough of them!!

  702. Turquoise and orange. I’ve been using turquoise for awhile, but the orange is new.

  703. Green, all darker blues, cream and yellow. I’m working very hard to get this right and not be distracted by too many knick-knacks – instead focusing on the overall impact of colours and balance…thanks!

  704. Hot pink, teal and yellow. This is our first time owning a house, so I’m going as right and cheerful as I can :-)

  705. I am loving blues and yellows right now. Our new house will be mostly blues and yellows with some white, mint, and pink or purple for our daughter’s room.

  706. Yellow is my color no matter what the season, but I’m also loving the combination of aqua and pale pink this Spring. Throw in a touch of neutral like beige, white, or grey and you’ve got a soothing palette.

  707. I have a gray-sided house and have fallen in love with fabrics with patterns in yellow, black and gray. That’s what I’ll be going for on my deck this summer.

  708. Light blue and grey-blues. However, I love red and am currently looking for ways to incorporate it into my house

  709. We just bought a house with a cute back yard and patio. I’m dreaming of a blue and white striped outdoor rug, and wood furniture with white cushions. Very nautical!

  710. I love me some World Market!! The husband and I were there this last weekend and I am loving their outdoor throw pillows with the vibrant patterns. Right now we have a pretty blah outdoor space and i’m looking to bring in some yellows, blues and some pops of orange and red.

  711. greens and small accents of aqua.

And a question for you as well! I have a ceramic stool, similar to the orange one shown above, which has seen better days – the paint is faded (honestly, I bought it this way at the outlet…a bargain, of course). I’m not sure what is the best way to repaint smooth ceramic. Do I need to prep the surface at all? Spray paint? Any suggestions welcome, thank you!

  712. Right now I’m loving the bright pink Azaleas blooming in my backyard! I have the upstairs hallway taped off and ready to paint a lovely smokey blue color. We’re doing white wainscoting on the lower half.

  713. I love the whole coral trend so I want to get tons of outdoor decorative pillows in coral and teal and incorporate them into my beige seating!!

  714. I love turquoise, grey and green. Thanks for the chance at the cool giveaway!

  715. Although maybe a common color for some, for me the blues–especially the light sky blues–I’m drawn to this year are surprising. I’ve always been an “in your face” color person, favoring reds and yellows, but this year, it’s blue all the way!

  716. I just bought a new bright red patio set and I’m thinking I’m going to add some bright yellow and orange pillows.

  717. I love bright green this year-that and a turquoise/coral combination too Thanks Centsational Girl!

  718. On the porch, chartreuse, turquoise, and blue…geometric & nautical fabrics. Family room in khaki & black with hits of red…khaki linen, buffalo check cotton, red and khaki ikat & black wool felt.

  719. Well, since my chairs are green, I think I am gonna go with some coordinating blues.

  720. I’ve been loving florals lately, which is unusual for me. I’m not normally so girly! World Market is a favorite of mine!

  721. I’m drawn to blue and coral and I love any pattern with a Moroccan flare!

  722. Teal!! Teal!!! Has been my favorite since elementary school and is finally back in vogue!

  723. Though I’ve never decorated with yellow before, I was in need of something cheery this spring, so I decided to use a warm yellow to paint my new (and free!) wooden chair for our music room. It is so fun to walk into that room and see my chair…makes me smile every time!

  724. Lately I am toning down… I’m still in love with my red accent wall, but am making cream slip covers for my sofas and adding read, cream, soft pink and aqua accents. Enjoying my home is deeply important to me since I am confined inside regularly due to a long-term illness. Thank you for such a wonderful give-away! I love all the choices World Market offers!
    Many blessings,
    Ruth Lutz

  725. I’m super obsessed with all tones of grey right now. I love adding different pops of color too!

  726. Iam lovingturquise, aqua, and teal these days…with bits of red, yellow, orange, pink…

  727. We are working on our deck. I like bright colors especially outside so using yellow, green, orange and red. No such thing as too much color

  728. I plan to frame some extra large old school polaroid prints (they are blown up) in the guest room, with a white textured duvet cover for the bed. I migth add in some pops of color with coral accent pillows.

  729. Still loving Moroccan prints and love the summer combo of navy blue, wood tones and beautiful, bright plant greens!!

  730. I just bought an entire outdoor set from World Market, along with orange pillows and accessories. Funny timing, I even bought the orange chevron pillows in this post!

  731. I am in love with orange right now. I am going to use it as accents to pop some color & brighten up my place.

  732. Oh I love World Market. I think some new pillows in blue, orange and yellow out on the patio would be great!

  733. I love simple stripes and this summer I’m loving yellow! And I always love turquoise! Thank you for the giveaway!

  734. I love bright colors! I have used bright lemon yellow and citrus-y orange for a long time. I have been inspired to add more green to my palette and am trying to add splashes of lime green to my bright, summery, citrus mix. I love how it had brightened it up while adding visual texture.

  735. I like the purple/yellow combination, which we’ll be doing in our front yard’s bed!

  736. I love color and as a nod to my Norwegian heritage I am decorating my home in primary reds, blues and yellows.

  737. Navy and white stripes, textures, whites and splashes of red–I love the nautical look.

  738. yellow and purple and royal blue!
I may add annie sloans paris grey to my porch area somehow!

  739. Always green and blue, they’re the colors my husband and I always agree on, but this year I want to add in some happy yellow.

  740. We have a lovely covered deck. I want to do it up in Navy and Rust with white.

  741. Hi Kate,

I love white/black and red. Most of my furniture is white and black with some accent pieces in red. For spring/summer i went with some green/yellow/terracota colors on pillows, blankets and flowers to flow around my sober furniture. Love your site!!!

    -Mariella.

  742. I’m actually copying your playroom design —so it’s blues and greens. :-)

  743. I’m taking cues from the cherry blossoms and camellias in the yard of my new home this spring and am going with pinks for my patio.

  744. I am loving all colors this year! My bedroom is going from boring gray and white, to casual and fun pink and purples. Thanks for the great giveaway!

  745. I will be cleaning my outdoor roble furniture and reviving it with linseed oil. This year I am trying a Caribbean palette — lots of blues, especially turquoise and corals.

  746. I have a few favorite colors, but I especially enjoy breaking out my favorite California-friendly summertime colors of cerulean, teal, and fuchsia. I’m always happy to walk through World Market at this time of year because they too have embraced the power of chevrons. :)

  747. I’m lucky enough to have a blank slate this year thanks to becoming a first-time home owner! I’m sticking mostly with neutral colors for larger pieces, greys, camel and whites, and infusing color with select pieces like throw pillows, a fun tufted bench and maybe some rugs. currently loving camel and coral or peach for our bedroom, sea mist, navy blue and grey for our living room (with some fun damask and floral pattern play!) and maybe green and gold for our dining room :)

  748. i’m decorating outside with turquoise and orange!!! and chevron. can’t let go of that trendy pattern. i love it!

  749. Blues! Lots of blues! I will be moving and my new place has a patio (finally!) so I’ll now have an outdoor space to decorate and enjoy. Very excited!

  750. I just bought some bright blue and green, with a little yellow, Moroccan print pillows at Home Goods. Could always use a few more though, or an outdoor rug, from World Market. Love that store. Thanks for the giveaway. :)

  751. We too are first time home owners and are undergoing a landscape overhaul. We will be doing yellow, black, white and some purples outside! Thank You.

  752. This time of year i love robins egg blue, daffodil yellow and apple blossom pink….the colors of nature are perfect! Thank you for the chance to win!

  753. I am decorating my laundry room this summer, it is a pit of despair right now. Colors? Hmmm… I was going to do black and white checkerboard floor, paint the cabinets white, add a new fun light fixture, maybe paint the ceiling a pale sky blue? I’ll use some rustoleum for counter tops to give new life, get a pretty new faucet for the sink, put up some storage shelves and add color with fun accessories—probably blues, greens and soft yellows. I love the World Market drink dispenser that looks like a blue mason jar, wouldn’t that be fun storage for liquid laundry soap?

  754. I can’t stay away from Chevron! I have to consciously try not to put too much of it in my house!

  755. My fav spring color is fresh new grass green, this paired with turquoise for a preppy punch!!

  756. I am making planters with red flowers on my front porch and need some red & pinks cushions and accents, World Market would be the perfect place to find them! Thx!

  757. I am loving turquoise and white! I am also into little peeks of natural wood, such as a coffee table with a stained top and a painted base. (current project)

  758. Blue is always a favorite around here! Turquoise and greens are popping up too.

  759. I am shopping for patio furniture, so this would come in handy! I am looking for neutrals with a pop of color for our space!

  760. I repainted our kitchen in a neutral cream, and am adding apple green curtains and accents this spring.

  761. simply leave a comment on this blog post answering this question, what colors or patterns are you decorating with this spring and summer in or outside of your home?

I am loving sticking to neutrals but adding pops of corals, yellows, and teals throughout with fun accessories. Pillows are my favorite way to accessorize :) Thank you for the awesome giveaway!

  762. We just got a new house with a patio and sunroom- so lots to decorate! I would love to bring color outside- maybe yellows, orange and blues?!!

  763. I am loving small accents of coral. It really perks up blues and greens to have a little pop of coral tossed into the mix.

PS I LOVE World Market! Great inspiration spot!

  764. I’m decorating my back patio and yard with different colors of blues with a punch of sunflower yellow. The GC would be so awesome. Love this website for inspiration and ideas…glad it was posted on Twitter.

  765. Recently discovered the world market near me, LOVE it! I am decorating a sitting area right now, going for the global feel!

  766. Perfect timing! I’m looking for an outdoor dining table and haven’t thought of looking at World Market yet. I’m hoping to incorporate some happy colors this time around. No more beige!

  767. I’d like to add some apple green or orange pillows out on the front porch. Either of those colors would add some “fun” to the outside of our house.

  768. I know that its crazy but I have been decorating in more whites for the spring and summer! I love the fresh, clean and breezy feeling white can bring when the temperatures rise here in TX

  769. I want turquoise and all the softer shades of aquamarine. If I can find affordable patio furniture, maybe used, I want to paint it and get fabric and make my own cushions for it.

  770. After a few seasons of bold geometrics, I am loving softer organic colors and florals. Who knew I would like florals again! These look so good with earthy accents!

  771. I love whites. But I’d like to add lime green and blue to my back porch. And who doesn’t love World Market? I love that they are carrying some shabby chic looking items as well!

  772. I’m using red, granny apple green and touches of yellow on our screened porch this summer.

  773. Thank you, I’ve recently been searching for info approximately this topic for a while and yours is the greatest I’ve found out so far.
But, what in regards to the conclusion? Are you positive about the source?

  774. Green and blue are my go-to colors, but I’ve been adding in some bright purple lately. I’d love a few outdoor throw pillows in those colors! Thanks :)

  775. I’m thinking greens and pattern for the lanai with some sort of accent color… coral a la your spring palette post? Thanks for the giveaway! Love the blog. Hope kitty’s okay…

  776. I’ve been working on a nursery for my third baby arriving in July. I’m using a color palette of mint green and teal, so excited! I’m also working on combining my two older kids into room together an using orange an gray. I’ve been contemplating using a bench cshion from World Market as headboards for the kids twin beds–the orange chevron is calling to me!

  777. I’ve been decorating my tween daughters room with bright colors and geometric shapes offset by white. Her name quilt has colorful dots and rectangles. I made the headboard by wrapping 18″ squares with padding and the fabrics in her quilt then mounted in the wall in two rows of 4. Each square has a bit of bling in the middle. It looks fabulous and has been a blast to work on.

  778. I am a fan of World Market as well! I just repainted our office a very light gray and am hoping to incorporate some yellows and grays. I absolutely adore the blue pillow in your post, and it would look perfect with my patio furniture!

  779. Since I live in the city, there is no outside to decorate :) Although I do have a fire escape garden with tomatoes and herbs too! Anyways the colors I am loving inside are blues and greens ! Also peacock feather patterns!

  780. We have lime green and blue inside and would like to use these colors on the lanau.

  781. Ohh, turquoise! It’s such a soothing and cooling color for my back deck! World Market has some great things! I’d love to win!

  782. I want to go with natural color on my chair cushions and use pops of colors with the pillows. I haven’t decided if I want a natural color umbrella or also a solid pop!

  783. I am using accents in citron. The color works with so many other colors and ties our rooms together.

  784. I just love the tranquil shades of sea glass and turquoise and definitely some shades of grey. I would love to shop for it all at World Market!!!

  785. Emerald Green is not only Pantone’s Color of 2013, but mine, too! Love it:)

  786. I am trying to update my super-cute barn red sofa with some duck-egg blue and sunshine yellow. I have repurposed an old buffet for use in the laundry room in the same blue (which is really somewhat green..)

  787. I am using more gray and turquoise. My sorority colors are steel grey and turquoise blue and I am loving those in each room.

  788. I do not even understand how I ended up right here, however I thought this post used to be
great. I don’t recognize who you’re but definitely
you’re going to a famous blogger if you happen to aren’t already.

    Cheers!

  789. I use a lot of greens and blues and browns in our home, but recently learned that I really like pink. And putting little pink things here and there have made our home definitely more springy and fun (and a little girly, which is much needed for me in a house of one female Mama, a man’s man husband and 3 boys) I especially love it in my family room of navy and white. Yea pink!

  790. I loooooooove World Market and I got so excited last year when I finally got to move near one! Before last June, I was 7 hours away from the nearest WM!
I’ve recently fallen in love with any sort of moroccan pattern. I love them all! I’d love to incorporate some of that design into my home.

  791. Seaglass is a gorgeous color & I love it, & I cannot wait till WINTER is actually truly over with. Here in the midwest the weather has been insane even for here – snow in some areas today and record lows (and record low highs, too!). Would love to have the $75 gift card to use at World Market, as they do have wonderful things there.

  792. Aqua is still one of my favorite colors! I live in Florida near the beach so it’s a natural choice :).

  793. I’ve decided on aquamarine and some splashes of coral. I’m focusing on stripes and poka-dots for most pieces. So excited, slowly starting to pick up pieces and put them together!

  794. Reds (and all its hues of glory) – thank you for the opportunity to win…Love & Blessings…

  795. World Market is one of my very favorite places to shop! I am wanting some orange pillows to brighten up my family room.

  796. I finally have a house I can decorate so I am fulfilling a long time desire to decorate with coral. I love the color of coral, especially when it is paired with various shades of blue.

  797. Might be a little played out but I still love ikat and pops of bright yellow.

  798. Inside my home I’m heavy into pastels right with dark navy as my contrast versus black. Colors like soft corals and minty greens. I’m really digging (in small doses) Aztec inspired prints; alongside thick bold stripes. Kind of a hodgepodge but it’s coming together!

  799. I am looking to pair some bright blues or aquas with some tangerine orangey shades…love that summery color combination and I haven’t done it anywhere yet!

  800. I’ve been adding some fun navy and yellow accents to my home, and of course, my wardrobe as well :)

  801. I’m digging geometrics, impressionistic florals and polka dots in turquoise!

  802. I am making outdoor pillows using spa colored ikat outdoor fabric. Indoors I have been adding hints of white for summer!

  803. I’m completely gutting my purple office and painting the walls a light gray, making built-ins that are painted white and will have hot pink and dark gray accents with a touch of yellow. Can’t wait for it to be done!

  804. Love white and off whites but am decorating with reds this year. Using fun patterns and skipping stripes.

  805. As soon as it quits raining and acting like winter outside I will be summerfying my deck. I have a black table and chairs. My husband had a vintage wrought iron chair and ottoman sand blasted and painted for me last summer. It was in my garage for 20 years, I love it now.I have black and white patterned cushions I will be adding a rug and small table this year. Can’t wait to get out there!

  806. I really like yellow these days. Yellow flowers are popping up all over and I’m trying to bring it indoors. not pale yellow, but not bright. I just bought some cut tulips that were the perfect shade!

  807. Every summer I fill my deck & backyard with flowers in pots of all shapes, colors & sizes. My furniture cushions are khaki color and frames are distressed black (from the Illinois winters), this season I want to bring the color orange into my yard. Probably coral or terra cotta. We need some spring here!! I absolutely love your blog, it makes me smiley! Thanks :)

  808. I love the new outdoors collection at World Market! I am wanting to go a bit more graphic with my outdoor pillows, so the chevron pillow is perrrrrfect. Love bright color everywhere, especially shades of blue and the perfect coral. Yay for spring!

  809. I’m introducing robin’s egg blue into all of my rooms this spring-and World Market has been VERY cooperative in providing plenty of options!! :-)

  810. I am a blue girl through and through. I would dress up my neutrals with a bit of turquoise.

  811. I am loving lime green, lilac, and gray right now. Just got all the toddler toys off my deck and I can’t wait to reclaim the space, thanks for the giveaway!

  812. I LOVE World Market! Their things are so cool and fresh and upbeat. OOOOOHHHH, look at that letter “K” you found! GORGEOUS! I must get an E! :)

  813. I love that you include vendors who are accessible and affordable like World Market. Plus all their coupons and specials make it doubly appealing. Thanks Katie.

  814. “Green” on different shades combined with some yellow, orange, pink.
Thank you for sharing your ideas.

  815. I have no idea what colors I’m going for…too many good ones to choose from!

  816. I adore greens and teal colors and I think this summer I’m going to replace my wicker chair cushions with a floral pattern around those colors and accent my yard with some yellow annuals.

  817. The colors on our deck chairs is dark green, evergreen almost so I am going to work with those colors…. perhaps jewel tones and small doses of orange/red (to avoid it looking like christmas)

  818. I keep my outdoor decor fairly subdued, so the plants can be the stars. My annuals are usually in purple and violet shades, so I follow suit with the accents on my gazebo, along with lots of green and dark wood tones.

  819. HI
have been enjoying your blog for some time now and feel inspired to incorporate some of your ideas in our next home. Whilst I can often find similar products here in the UK it is so disappointing that stores like World Market don’t yet offer international delivery – would be happy to pay the shipping for some of the things I’ve coveted from them and other outlets.
Glad your puss is a bit happier now – we had this happen to ours 2 years ago – they seem so poorly until they get some medication.

  820. I would love to add some bright orange and lots of pattern to go with my obsession with black and white basics!

  821. Orange and yellow. And green and turquoise. I love bright summer colors! And chevrons! I love chevrons!

  822. World Market is my fave! Right now I am loving a mix of mint and different shades of pink. Makes for such a happy combination!

  823. I’ve been adding some light and bright blues (to my navy and green color palate). Also, lots of geometric patterns & some ikat too.
    Sarah

  824. I find myself always drawn to orange and turquoise. Funny, because my obsession with it actually started when I bought a rug from World Market that I pulled the colors from for my living room, now I’ve used them on my front porch and even sort of with my wedding colors, coral and turquoise.

  825. Apple green and black stripes. Love World Market. I go there every time I visit my son in Northern VA.

  826. I love World Market, too! And I love your blog!! I’m hoping to buy some new red cushions for our patio set. (I love the pattern at World Market!)

  827. My room now consists of black and white stripes and bold floral accents. (World Market has beautiful floral pillows right now) I also threw in Gold metals and framed pieces. Timeless and used in all seasons :)

  828. I’m needing to tone down the walls to neutrals & bring in pops of color elsewhere.

  829. I LOVE World Market!! Right now I’m feeling a soft pink with bright, natural greens for outside. I like that theyre colors that go along with nature but still feel fresh and vibrant

  830. I live bright floral patterns! Especially on pillows so it’s not overwhelming.

  831. Red, orange, yellow and black on patio!….. love your blog! you are so inspirational! : )

  832. Soft watermelon pink, cream, and black is what I am wearing this spring and decorating with teal and emerald (close to the Pantone emerald color) with warm reds and browns and cream neutrals!

  833. I’m crazy for greens! Anything to cool down the warm color palette I’ve had for the last seven years;-). Thanks so much for all you do – such an inspiring website…..

  834. I am drawn towards blues, and tribal prints! Thanks for the generous giveaway – you have a wonderful blog, keep up the good work!

  835. I love a bight ikat print, but also love the clean, modern lines of bold chevron.

  836. I just got two white rockers off of craigslist for my porch and I think I’m going to do a simple front porch this year. Just a plant and white lantern on the table.

  837. I have one daughter graduating High School and then leaving for college and one getting married. I think I will be decorating with green! (Or maybe without green). I do love all the colors and fun things at World Market.

  838. Oh I hope I win!! There is so much decorating going on at our new house! We’re going mint and coral in the home office (because, really, it’s my office, and the hubs only needs to store things there…), light gray walls and white furniture with bright teal, yellow, and green accents for our nursury (to be occupied in August…), oranges and yellows in the kitchen…and I still have to make decisions for our back patio area…

Oooooh I’m going to World Market anyway, even if I don’t win. It can’t be helped.

  839. I know that green is the 2013 color, but I always tend towards red on our traditional farmhouse porch. Nothing like ferns and red/white/blue for me!

  840. Each of my patio furniture chairs and tables are a neutral tan color so I’m hoping to buy a couple of outdoor pillows in aqua blue and lime green. I’m craving some bright color out there!

  841. I’m totally obsessed with chevron prints, and I don’t care if I’m behind the times on it. I really like blues, greens and yellows all combined. Go figure…those were our wedding colors. They make me happy.

  842. I love World Market! One of my favorite places to shop!

I’m wanting our home to be light and airy right now, so I am loving the white and beachy blue combination!! I am still loving the chevron pattern too.

  843. I love the colors you used! I love orange, yellow and lime green and can’t wait to get my deck in shape.

  844. I am loving navy and bright grass green this year. I recently spray painted our patio table, and when I was done my husband started laughing at me. When I asked why he said, “Just go look in the mirror”. Green spray paint + wind = me looking like Kermit. The table looks awesome though!

  845. I am loving all shades of turquoise or aqua! I would be over the moon to win a gift card to World Market! I could spend it very easily! Maybe on a garden bench!

  846. I’m really enjoying hunter green right now, and always love shades of teal.

  847. I love World Market and find an excuse to stop in there every week even if it’s just to buy coffee and browse the store!

  848. We just closed on a new house and will be decorating with lots of blues and a little coral this spring! So excited!

  849. I will be redecorationg my guest bathroom in a beach theme, blue, white and seashells. For my home office I will be painting that in a mint green color… have not decided on accent color yet.

  850. My family and I are moving into our first home this summer!!! We have a dog and a 9 month old baby so we couldn’t be happier to have a fenced in yard, and a patio (that needs furnishing!). I plan to use bright green, yellow and oranges to make our yard a tropical get-away!

  851. I’m adding black accents and pops of color. One project I have in mind is a large chalkboard in my kitchen framed maybe in yellow.

  852. We are trying to add color to the front of our house with the door color and new plants/flowers in the beds. Still undecided on colors yet, just can’t seem to find one that I LOVE! Thanks for the giveaway!

  853. I am decorating our nursery right now, so it’s mostly pinks, green and gray!

  854. I recently moved to a new apartment and got a surprise gift of a beautiful Turkish rug. So, my challenge is to incorporate the mostly fall colors of the rug into a room that was originally going into a different direction. I think I’m going to try to pick up the yellow of my favorite painting and the sage green of the sofa and the green in the rug in pillows and accessories. Always a work in progress.

  855. My backyard is screaming for some new, colorful outdoor pillows. Love those orange chevron ones.

  856. Hi, I always love pinks, pale aqua and lots of white….it’s my favorite color. I ask myself, “what would Rachel Ashwell do!”

  857. I will be using saturated pinks, black and natural/whites, and esp gold. I am so on this kick and it looks great all over the house! But it has to be the guilded gold or antqued gold color – no shiny brass! But I love color so there will be pops of everything in each room – and one color I have already showing up a lot is a dark reddish salmon. Hard to describe but it’s awesome !

  858. Blues and greens are my favorites for color. Right now I’m working on our sunroom. I’m planning to paint the walls Edgecomb Gray with a lot of turquoise and green around the room.

  859. I love your blog! This year I’m sprucing up my front door and might even tackle the garage door. And of course, it will be in my sginature color, red!

  860. World Market is so much fun and so affordable! I’m decorating with blues and greens…colors that remind me of spring and summer.

  861. peacock blue and grey are always my staple colors and I add in orange or yellow in the spring/summer

  862. Hi :)

I’ve been adding turquoise accessories inside. I also added red cushions outside for my chairs & lots of purple flowers in pots. Looking out my windows makes me happy. I would use the gift certificate for a lantern. Can never have enough candles outside at night time!

Love your blog. Secret admirer ;)

    Larisa

  863. I am loving teal and other bright fresh colors (into my neutral and red house)

  864. I usually prefer a very neutral color pallet but have been wanting to incorporate some blues in!

  865. I am going to step out of my typical neutral earth tones and go for bright blues, corals, and maybe some yellows for outside and inside the home my husband and I just purchased!

  866. We just moved into a new home and are looking at updating our old tan colors to more greys and yellows.

  867. This spring I’ll be decorating with buttery, happy yellows and chartreuse greens! Just bought some teak patio furniture and am looking to incorporate a little lemon/lime feel in to the textiles (outdoor rug and chair pads) I plan to pick up!

  868. I am moving next month and am excited to use citrus colors! I am using a new orange in the bath and green in every room!

  869. Shades of water blue are inspiring me this spring – I picked up a bundle of jeans from a thrift store, cut them up, and am making a table runner and pillow coverings – just love the laid back, faded comfy-ness of it – plus the varying shades of blue are beautiful. Thanks for the chance to win!

  870. Just found your site and am loving it! Lots of inspiration! I am planning to freshen up my front porch and add some curb appeal By painting my front door a cheerful yellow and adding a couple of chairs with some pretty patterned cushions and pillows. I am really liking all of the fun geometric patterns but I’m always a sucker for a pretty floral. Thanks for the chance to win!

  871. I’m trying to get new colors for my bedroom, and the turquoise and green colors would be a nice new way to go. Thank you for the giveaway. I’m glad to hear Coco is ok.

  872. I’m loving the turquoise color that’s out now. I’m decorating my living room with it, along with a deep yellow. I look forward to all your posts. Thank you for your insights!

  873. i found this peacock blue and green fabric from joann’s fabric and will try it on my wall.

  874. I’d like to bring in some yellows and oranges to brighten up the reds I already have in some of our accessories.

  875. I am decorating the outside patio in shades of green and aqua. Now I just need a beautiful accent color.

  876. Love World Market! They have so may great looks right now. I’m loving mint, navy, grays… beachy, relaxing colors!

  877. This year, I’m all about bright colors with kind of a Moroccan vibe. It’s eclectic, really, but if I find something bright that I love, I include it!

  878. Love aqua, coral, natural materials with some aged brass accents. Really loving me some Hollywood regency, lattice pattern. I think it would great in an outdoor space, you can be glamorous outside right?

  879. I’ve been using neutrals as a backdrop (think light grays, etc) for the bright colors I’ve been accessorizing with, like teals, corals, and yellow. I love summer colors both inside and out, and have two wooden chairs I want to spray paint some bright color or colors so they’ll really pop!

  880. I would love to decorate my screened in porch this year with aqua and navy with another pop of color…maybe orange? I need new cushions or really a whole new patio set! Hope I can win and I enjoy reading the blog week after week! Thank you for always making it interesting!

  881. Definitely coral and navy and I will always be a fan of the yellow pattern- so fresh!

  882. Hi! I’m such a big fan of World Market that I literally can’t go there. See, I’m a full time college student (read: BROKE) and it gets hard to leave all my preciouses behind! Perhaps it has to do with the last three years I’ve spent in Seattle, but gray is getting to be my new favorite color! I love to mix it with shades of teals/aquas and even warm plum-y purples!

  883. Oh lovely color, where do I start! I have a vintage white wicker seating set and a black wrought iron table that I play with color every year, especially vintage bark cloth finds and ’60’s retro prints that are alwasy sooo cool in the color and pattern. Pillows, rugs and add some old iron and candles and I’m set. This year dark navy, red, yellow in a fabulous floral print. Can’t wait till it warms up!

  884. Need to (spray) paint some big metal pieces for outside… I have a funky bright green i’m going with… love World Market!

  885. My husband and I are newly weds and have just purchased our first house. (aka The biggest DIY project ever!) We just bought outdoor furniture from World Market. I can’t wait to decorate with bright pink, blue and green shades mixed into a Morrocan themed pattern. LOVE!

  886. I’m sprucing up our patio. I’m using bright colors as a backdrop and mixing it up with pillows. I’m currently looking for bright colored chairs for around the fire pit. Can’t wait for the weather to cooperate and warm up in Illinois!

  887. I have my eye on several things at World Market. I really hope I win. This Spring I am decorating with white, gray and teal.

  888. I have a green and white chevron monogram ordered from etsy on my door. Chevron and polka dot pillows color up my bench along with black flower pots filled with bright flowers.

  889. I love rustic natural with lots of green, khaki/clay, and cream. I like my flowers to do the color talking–dark pinks, yellows, reds, purples…

  890. We’re using light blues and vibrant yellows outside with coral accents :)

  891. aquas, robin’s egg blues (which is really a green/blue), splash of yellow-coral, and a warm green like Ben Moore’s Amazon Moss.

In love with Liquitex’s new spray paint colors–water-based!

  892. Stripes for summer – inside and out! Wide sky blue and white cushions for outside and skinnier blue stripes for a new duvet cover. Thanks for dong this.

  893. Aqua and brown outside. Aqua/teal and gray inside.Enjoyed hearing having you present at PRSA Intl Conference last October.

  894. Hello from Santa Rosa! My birthday present this year is to turn a little deck off the side of our house into my own little oasis. I want boho chic reds, grass greens, and teals as I try to make it an outdoor rooms. Lanters and comfy seating, and room for impromptu dance parties on the weekends after work with the kids.

Thanks for paying it forward (in many ways, this is just a small of many from what I read)

  895. I honestly have no idea but we finally have a space to decorate so I’m excited at the possibilities. I know something will come to me as I spend time out there.

  896. I’ve been drawn to a lot blues and greens with yellow and purple runner-ups. Depends on the space I’m working on.

  897. darker turquoise and a little mustard to blend the old with the turquoise.

  898. World Market is my favorite store! On my last visit, I had to resist the urge to pick up a small stuffed llama as an impulse buy.

I use a lot of red and gold Asian accents in my home office, so I’ll be kicking things up a notch this Spring.

  899. I did something totally different in the way of decorating our living room. Reclaimed wood, stained and painted with milk paint, done in a herringbone pattern on our vaulted ceiling!! (I’ve linked to all sorts of parties. Please take a peek if you even get to read this comment!!)
I got the idea from seeing the pattern on floors, but have never seen anything like this on the ceiling. The colors are distressed beach tones with a lot of gray and blue grays. I found a gorgeous chandy that compliments the ceiling!! The floor is silver travertine laid in a versaille pattern. (Yes, we did all the work ourselves!!) My couch is being redone in a charcoal velvet w/matching chaise. The ottoman is peacock velvet, diamond tufting w/nailhead trim. I was going to do pops of yellow as an accent, but I’m loving orange now. So I have pops of turquoise and orange along w/the charcoal, peacock and grays/whites. I have a beautiful piece of art done in all those colors of a leopard. That art piece will be the focal point on the wall. The walls are silvery gray with an accent wall of BM “Kendall Charcoal”. Oh, and we built our media console ourselves with plans I got from “Ana White”. It’s a Restoration Hardware knockoff. Also on my blog.
Sorry for the long-winded comment!!! Just wanted to make sure you got a “visual”!! lol. Thankyou!!!!!
    Beth

  900. Since my new house won’t be ready till the end of May, which by the way, I could really use the $50 gift card(hint…hint..hint), I will be using soft yellows, pale blues, and light greens. I think they are fabulous spring colors and get us all ready for summer!

  901. Beach colors this summer: aqua, turquoise, sand, navy blue…
    Thanks for the opportunity :-)

  902. Teal green is a favorite. I found an older style outdoor seating with orange cushions – I love the teal with it. I love World Market for great ideas and terrific buys. I always check out their clearance section to see what I couldn’t possibly live without.

  903. I find that I always lean towards blues and greens. I try really hard to find some masculine pieces too, so the man doesn’t feel like he lives in an anthropologie store.

  904. Garden colors, like green and peach, are on my mind right now. Thanks for the inspiration!

  905. I’m currently in a state of confusion as I prepare to decorate a new house. I love a colorful 1950s look but the new place is more traditional and “elegant” looking. So I’m thinking about what I can do to go for a cozy bungalow look. We’ll see. As for color….everything! I use a lot of color in accents and my very colorful window boxes are brightening up my living room now– pink and white geraniums, greens, orange, yellow, and pink million bells, blue ageratum, and so on. It’s spring and I love bright!

  906. I’m loving wicker, wood, and other natural elements. My patio set is several years old, but it’s still in good shape so I have to work around those colors. It’s not my favorite anymore, but I know I can make it look great with some new accessories! Thanks for a great giveaway!!

  907. My little apartment is a Mecca of saturated colors. I am so lucky that we have management that allows us to paint. Of course it all has to go back white when we leave, but its worth it!
My son wanted a Seahawks room, so I took his Christmas Fathead to my Sherwin Williams. I matched Benjamin Moores 839. Its a medium blue/gray with a slight purplish under tone. It gave the room a warm hug. I’m using the Seahawks eye (SW6923 Festival Green) as sheet and pillow accents.
I gave my all white room a boost by painting the headboard wall a beautiful blue SW6500 Open Seas. It really makes my white iron and brass headboard pop.
I also bought a new Chinese Red Obsession to refresh my entryway. It’ll be a bold way to welcome my friends, but I love it!!!

  908. We are still under contract for our new house, but once we are settled I’m hoping to decorate our front porch in dusty blues, greens, and a little bit of brown. I can’t wait to move in and get started!

  909. Good day very nice web site!! Guy .. Beautiful .. Amazing ..The Spectacular ” inside info ” Of Your best place to buy dresses

  913. I’m going with orange and aqua. The chairs I fell in love with are from World Market so this would be a great start to the budget :)!

  914. This year I experimented with more color and using teal, fuschia, and mustard yellow. It’s working out so far!

  915. I’ve been inspired by your site, since I found it last year, and I’m now in the process of brightening my neutral living room with some accents of teal and moss, in some patterns of lattice and birds to bring some nature in. And, now that I’ve read your other post, I’m going to go out and get some cuttings from my Viburnum tonight. (thanks!).

  916. I will be adding bright pink and orange to my tiffany blue living room. And hopefulling incorporating a lot more patterns!

  917. I’m actually planning on furnishing the patio at my new house with World Market furniture! On my list are the orange drum stool, the catalina outdoor dining table, and the blue cadiz stacking chairs. I love the bright red and turquoise combo.

  918. I’ve been using pinks and yellows. A bit out of my comfort zone, but it’s good for me :)

  919. We are currently re-plastering our pool in a deep gray with navy blue tiles…. so im on the hunt for navy cushions and coral accessories for a pop of color!
world market has such fab pieces for the outdoors!

  920. We have a deck that has really only been used by our dogs as a place to nap. This year, I’m reclaiming the deck and turning it into a place to entertain and relax. World Market has so many beautiful accessories that will transform our deck into a space that we can enjoy all summer long. Thank you for sharing your wonderful ideas for outside spaces!

  921. Oh, I am so obsessed with World Market’s products! I’m decorating with teal and white, with accents of black!

  922. Blues outside on pillows for patio furniture to tie in with what is going on inside.

  923. I will be adding trellis curtain to the living room. I just need to decide on what color!

  924. We purchased a painting of poppies to celebrate our 62nd anniversary, so have been keeping my eyes open for shades of orange, which has not been a fav of mine before. Fun to see what I can find in our own home but would also LOVE to shop World Market with your gift certificate in hand. Thanks for the opportunity. Cheers.

  925. I was just last week in a World Market store for the first time. I was out of state, and they don’t have any locations near me. LOVED IT. I am working on furnishing my garage-turned-family room in a rustic meets elegant scheme. I have my eye on several things, this would really come in handy!

  926. Usually I use a lot of neutrals but this year I am into a dark Navy – kind of a neutral I guess! Thanks for the giveaway!

  927. I’ll be decorating outside with deep tan colors and hints of Ball Glass Jar Blue!!! – like you have your vibernums in!!! LOVE world market!

  928. We are laying floors this summer and adding new moldings.I’ve been trying to neutralize a little more with pops of patterns!

  929. I have the most boring family room of all. Everything is BROWN; furniture, tables, lamps, drapes…..YUCK! I am going to paint my tables, get colorful artwork, fun pillows and new drapes. I love neutral with pops of color. My new colors are TEAL, RED, ORANGE! Wish you were here in Medina, OHIO to help me…..LOL BTW… I lLOVE World Market.

  930. i am loving coral, emarald green and gray…maybe some turquoise in there too

  931. Hi Kate, I’m in love with grey and lilac and a pea green all mixed together. But you definitely got me going on the coral vibe and am in love with navy gray and coral. For outdoors always a favorite- green, ivory, and coral, sweet pink or soft coral.
    Thanks.

  932. HMMM… I am loving soft bluish grays at the moment mixed in with a little kelly green and bard red.

  933. I am crushing on stripes and quatrefoil patterns right now…and anything with medallions! Decorating the patio is always so fun…it seems summer is almost here!

  934. It’s not usually my thing, but I’m really drawn to bright red right now. I just potted all my herbs in red flower pots.

  935. Green! I’m into a fresh, kelly green right now. Just little doses of it to help bring the spring inside our home. Love this time of year!!

  936. Thank you for your blog. The kids and I are looking forward to using some of your ideas on our deck. We love to be outside and enjoy the fresh air. One problem, I don’t have the confidence to decorate. So I like seeing the product ideas you gave. I think I can jump in and try. We are looking at bright orange and light blue. Sounds strange but after reading some of your posts, I think it will work.

  937. I’m currently searching for dark reds to go in our enclosed porch but I’m finding lots of great stuff to go throughout the house! I’m also planning a turquoise painting project on an old beat up desk we just inherited!

  938. Gray, orange & aqua!! — Our closest World Market store is and hour & a half away … so winning this would make online shopping that much sweeter (since I can’t physically go to the store like I would like to)! Love, love, love the Orange Paisley Antigua Plates!! Would be perfect for our outdoor space! Thank you for the opportunity & for your creative & inspiring blog!!

  939. I love everything about World Market. Beautiful house stuff, good wine, lots or munchies, wonderful coffees and load of yummy international food!:)

  941. Red, red, red!! We have a nice big deck with nothing but a table and a trip to world market is on the to-do list!

  942. For this Spring, I chose florals. I’ve always loved floral prints and they are perfect for this season, not to mention, they transition well into summer!

    Vera
