Home Depot: Gift Card Giveaway

May 4, 2012

Hi everyone, happy weekend to you all!  Last night I was in Roseville and I gave a presentation for Home Depot in partnership with their resident garden expert Skip.  He taught us all a few new things about container gardening, and I chimed in the creative side, sharing some ideas on how to spruce up ordinary containers plus a few ideas on how to add beauty and whimsy to outdoor spaces.  I didn’t take any pictures since I was speaking, but here is a peek at one part where I’m showing how to create a mosaic tile planter, courtesy of Home Depot on Instagram.  I’ll show how I made that beautiful planter next week!

This weekend, the kind folks over at Home Depot are offering three lucky winners a $50 gift card to shop for anything you want!  Yep, there are three gift cards up for grabs this weekend.  Who’s in the mood for a little home improvement?

  1. Chantel says:

This is probably really silly but I need to change the lightbulbs in all our bedrooms. We are renting and have built in fan/light combo’s. I can never find the right size bulb and just put it off.

  2. Liz says:

Our next project is putting gutters on our house.

  3. Mindy says:

I’d love a kitchen backsplash! Thanks for the giveaway!

  4. Lisa says:

I have so many it’s hard to choose just one, but I think my next project is to plant my veggie garden and paint my garden gate a bright fun color.

  5. Chanda says:

I just sat down and made my summer project list. No school for the kids and no work for me will hopefully make a productive summer! The top of my list is paint the backdoor. I let my MIL paint it when we moved in and she never got finished scraping the paint off the glass and I’m embarassed to say I’ve lived with it for 2 years like that. So it’s getting a new color and getting done right this time!

  6. Beginning next week I will be a full time stay at home mom so we decided to get our own garden planted last weekend. This would help get a few more veggie plants!

  7. Melissa says:

Those planters are so pretty–great idea.

Our next project is to put a pergola on our deck for some shade. Not sure if we will do part of the deck or the entire deck.

  8. CherylM. says:

I need to re-do my deck.

  9. Carrie says:

Hmmm, where do I start. I want to redo my laundry room, we need a new faucet in our bathroom (the hot side doesn’t work), we want to build another raised garden in the back, we need to pain the front entryway and we need to paint the house! I NEED THIS GC! :)

  10. Annie T says:

My next project is repainting a round pedestal table I bought at a tag sale!

  11. amanda heath says:

My current home improvement project is our new mus/laundry room. Flooring, paint, etc.

  12. Kim says:

So many projects! Need to finish the hallway (it’s currently down to bare plaster) and freshen up the garden for curb appeal before we start updating the bedroom, bathroom, and kitchen. So like I said: so. many. projects. :)

  13. Mandy says:

Our next home improvement project would most likely be our downstairs bathroom. We don’t use it very often, but it would be nice to spruce it up a bit. Now I just need to have someone come in and help me since I’m home improvement impaired! :)

  14. Dawn says:

I tackled one flower bed this weekend – it turned out great! Next weekend, I’ll work on a bed of dirt/rocks under the window by our pool. I’m planning to plant some grasses and some purple and gold/yellow flowers (including lavender) since my son just got accepted at Univ of Washington. Go Huskies!

  15. rebecca says:

My next project is painting and rearranging my daughter’s bedroom. She has big plans!

  16. Crystal Warren says:

My next project is to move to switch bedrooms with my sons …they have a huge room in basement and now that they’re getting older I want them to have their own rooms so I’m moving them upstairs to my bedroom and the office and then transforming their room into half my bedroom and half a workout space.

  17. Kelly says:

I would put it towards new flooring for my daughter’s “hangout room” the carpet in there is slightly older than my eldest which is scary!!!

  18. Shanna says:

Our next project is building a built-in style over-toilet cabinet in the hall bathroom.

  19. Shanna says:

Also shared this post on Facebook!

  20. KimB says:

We need to replace some bathroom faucets. Thanks for the give away!

  21. My next home project is two fold: finishing our guest bedroom and completing our backyard (deck, a gravel side with stepping stones, a sandbox for our kiddo, a garden, and landscaping). Man, when I type it out it sounds much bigger than it really is!

  22. erica says:

i would love to refinish my stairs, rip out that yucky carpet!

  23. I reposted on Facebook!

  29. Heather Klompmaker says:

Our next project is our yard! We moved into a house this past fall not knowing that poison ivy was invasive in the yard:( We are getting ready to have all the brush and two trees removed to hopefully get rid of the poison ivy that is growing rampant and add plants/flowers to the landscaping.

  39. Adina says:

We will be building 2 large planter boxes to start our very own garden. We’re new homeowners and gardening virgins, so this should be an interesting project! I just have a goal of being able to say “I grew these in my garden”.

I love it, but needs a lot of updating. Since we had a wedding soon after it was hard to get started on the project. We need to redo the whole house, but for now we are starting off with the small rooms! We plan on gathering the materials for the project little by little soon!
