By Kate Riley May 27, 2012

Hey all, how’s your weekend treating you?  We’re busy busy with the Alma project kitchen remodel and the demo is done, now we’re getting ready to piece the new kitchen together.  There’s a lot of work ahead, cabinets and countertops and tile, oh my…   We have most of it under control and I should have a new kitchen to show you by mid-June, we’re all so excited!

Today is ‘best of the blogosphere’ day and Amanda and I team up every two weeks to bring you our favorite projects, ideas, and posts we spy out there in blogland.  Here’s the list, enjoy.

Don’t miss a beautifully written post by Nester who recently visited Africa with the Compassion bloggers.  She eloquently relates the feelings that come with blogging about “first world problems” having experienced real third world problems in her post titled The {African} Elephant in the Room

That’s it for this week folks, and thanks Amanda as always for helping me round up a few of these picks, you can visit with Amanda at her lovely blog Serenity Now.  If you’d like your latest project or post considered for this series, be sure to send it our way to [email protected].

Today we’re painting walls and installing cabinets at the Alma house, then driving out to the beach for some seafood at the coast, can’t wait!

Enjoy your Sunday,

  5. Yay! I love to see a Compassion post featured on BOTB! It is so good to balance the design dilemma side of blogging with what is truly important. Your coverage of the Alma project does that and adding a Compassion post brings in another dimension. I admire you for including posts like this, Kate. Thanks!

    • Thanks Hilary! I admire anyone who gives back to those in need in any way large or small!

  8. Hi Kate, I always enjoy your BOTB links and was particularly drawn this week to The Nester’s blog post and her other entries about her trip. She really knows how to put everything into perspective and inspired me to sponsor a child from Tanzania. I wouldn’t have known about Compassion without her post – and you linking to it – and I thank you very much!

    • Wonderful news Catherine! We’ve sponsored two children for a few years, and it’s wonderful getting their letters and watching them grow.

  9. Your bedroom was very beautiful. The flag of Great Britain and the bed are just so attractive. The bar stand was also very cool. You’re so creative.
