By Kate Riley April 29, 2012

Hey there everyone, time for another roundup of some inspiring projects gathered up from all around the blogosphere, enjoy these links and projects on this lovely Sunday!

Dark and dramatic was the choice in this kitchen cabinet makeover by Decorating Cents, and what a smart choice it was, especially with that beautiful backsplash.

Speaking of kitchens, if organization is on your to-do list, Lindsay from Living with Lindsay shows you how to build your own pull-out trash and recycling bin.

There are a lot of painted rug tutorials out there, but this painted graphic patterned rug by the almost 40 year old intern is particularly beautiful, check out the intricacy of the detail and all achieved with paint, fabric medium, and painter’s tape! (via Design*Sponge).

Here’s a fun idea for adding a dose of color to your ordinary pots, consider more saturated colors like this neon pink planter by The Proper Pinwheel.   The bright color makes quite an impact!

Can you guess what this garden tool container was in a former life?  Check out the Before and marvel at the creativity of the After at Trash to Treasure.

Kristine from The Painted Hive took a hum drum IKEA organizer into a unique library card catalog lookalike, such a creative reinvention!

Finally, it’s outdoor gardening season and this is the most creative use of cinder blocks I think I’ve ever seen, Kristin turned them into a planter and outdoor bar (by The Hunted Interior.)  Talk about transforming the ordinary into the extraordinary!

Hope you’ve all enjoyed this latest roundup, I’m always amazed by the creativity that exists out there!  Thanks to Amanda as always for helping me round up a few of her favorites too.

If you’d like your project or post considered for this bimonthly series, send it our way to [email protected] !  I’m back to work at the Alma Project house today, I’m so so tired from the past few days, but thanks to a helpful crew, at least one room (the kids’ play/family room) is coming together, I’ll share stories and pics soon.

Enjoy the rest of your weekend!

  2. People all over the web share their findings in compilations like this but I personally REALLY love the things you find! Thanks for sharing your BOTB with us, I always get so many lovely inspirations! Keep up the good work in these and your other posts!

  3. Thank you so much for featuring my Frankenstein-ed file cabinet! ;) You made my day (my whole month, actually) I’m a huge fan, and I’m thrilled to be in such fabulous company!

  4. Wow. Um. WOW. Great round up. Like … GREAT. I’m particularly in love with the hot pink velvet chair, but sadly … not an easy DIY. ;) I too will be doing the Ikea hack. I’ve been looking at antique file drawers for my tax receipts and such but they’re soooo expensive. THIS is the option I’ve been looking for in my brain but could never quite find. Thx. ~ karen!
