Changes + Announcements

By Kate Riley May 27, 2011

Happy Friday friends, what’s cookin’ this long weekend?  Are you off on a little vacay or grilling at home?  We’re having a little shindig with some close friends here at our casa.  We can’t wait to show off the new stone patio we installed, you’ll get to see it next week!

Summer has me dreaming of a few days off, so I’ve scheduled some family time over the next few months.  A few road trips and a mini vacation are going to interrupt those Fair Weather Forums I planned earlier this year, so I’m announcing a new schedule.  I’ve moved a few topics around, so sorry for any inconvenience!  Also, in honor of Memorial Day, there will be no link party on Monday May 30th.

Here are the new Summer Link Party dates:

Through the year, you’ll be seeing posts about cool stuff I find from my local True Value stores.  I’ll be trying out their Premium line of paints, plus up to my regular home improvement tricks.  I’ll be fixing up furniture and also using some of their supplies to improve our Alma House, this will be fun!

True Value carries many of my favorite brands, Purdy paintbrushes, Zinsser primers, Minwax and Varathane stains and protectants, Scotch painter’s tape, 3M sanders and hooks, RustOleum spray paints, Floetrol, the list goes on and on.  Just today I brought home some seeds and potting soil from their garden department as well.  Did you know True Value rents power tools?  Yep!  Need a jig saw, brad nailer, or tile saw for the weekend?  Be sure to check out the stock at your local True Value store, they probably have one for you to rent!

Finally, there’s a site revamp going on behind the scenes over the next few weeks, so if you see anything wacky happening, we’re just making some tweaks and changes.  If you think of a category you’d like to see around here, or something you think would help you navigate around a bit better, be sure to let me know.  Hoping to unveil the improvements sometime in late June!

Another round of BOTB coming up this weekend, until then . . .

  1. Sounds like you have a busy but fun summer planned! I really like that you have a tags list in the sidebar. I don’t mind search boxes, but get frustrated when my favourite blogs don’t have tags lists. I find it so much easier to find posts on certain topics that way.

  2. Have a great holiday weekend.
Congratulations on continuing with the True Value DIY Squad.
I am looking forward to some great parties this summer.

  3. I would love for you to have a “older” or back link at the bottom. It makes it so much easier to go back and read through the blog.

  4. Exciting news all around! I really enjoy your link parties–always unique ideas and bloggers who join seem willing to share the comment fun. Can’t wait to see what you have in store for everyone. :)

  5. Hi Kate, I love Ur blog the way it is the only thing I wud like to see added is a button at the bottom to link to “older post.” Have a great holiday weekend and thank you for all your great post.

  6. i can’t imagine HOW you’re gonna improve on your current site. i just found you about one month ago. you inspired me to start my own blog! :-)
