Home Goodies at Burlington Coat Factory ?!

By Kate Riley April 29, 2010

I’ve always known Burlington Coat Factory was a great place for cheap clothing for kids.  Today I found myself exploring the home goods department and was rather delighted to see this discount store had a few accessories and some furniture that were quite stylish, and inexpensive compared to their designer twins !

I spied these moroccan end tables for $50 at BCF, and found them a few places online like right here for $200 !

Do you love the Filigree Urn by Z Gallerie ?  I adore it, but it is almost $100 dollars.  A similar version at BCF is $30 bucks and also comes in blue, green and white.

That $12 dollar smaller one came home with me.  :-)

How about the Mayfair Steamer Chest from Restoration Hardware ?  $1,695 ouch.  This smaller trunk is $100 dollars at BCF.

I also found these upholstered leather dining chairs for $100 each:

And these pretty ottomans too:

This leather storage bench is very handsome.

The tiger print tables ?   Hmmm.  Not so much.

There’s definitely a mix of the good with the bad !!  :-)

Also, yesterday I mentioned Waverly’s ‘Lovely Lattice’ in Lagoon in the post about combining blue and orange.  So I was tickled to see it everywhere at Burlington Coat Factory – they had accent pillows, office supplies, bins, curtain panels, canvas art and kitchen accessories, all in this lattice pattern!  For cheap !

And check out this mirror, in Waverly’s ‘Bedazzle’ pattern:

Then I popped in next door to Joann’s and found both of these special order fabrics available there.  You can also find them online here and here.

Many of you are probably hip to this place for inexpensive home decor.  I was excited to spy so many great finds and it reminded me a lot of Marshalls.  But for those of you who were unaware, I just had to share !

  1. i bought Moroccan side tables at world market for $30 last year and they are exactly like what bcf are selling! i love them!

  2. Do you have a Home Goods store in California? (www.homegoods.com) It’s a bit chaotic when you step in there, but think T.J. Max or Marshalls, but just the home goods departments multiplied by 10! They have a neat “customer finds” on the right sidebar of their homepage.

  3. I didn’t know they sold furniture! Always wondered at a shop selling just coats in sunny California!

What is the plural of ottoman?

  4. the burlington in nashville is crap (the last time i went in there i swore i would never go back) …but i’ve moved to a new city, so you’ve inspired me to check out the one here. thanks

  5. I had no idea they had so much decor! I’ll definitely have to head over there. I actually like the morrocan tables better than the $200 ones. Thanks for the tip =)

  6. Thanks for sharing. I had no idea. I moved to the U.S. 3.5 years ago and only remember Burlington Coat factory for clothing mainly.

Since my office chair has the waverly pattern I need to figure out where my nearest BCF is and make a trip there pronto! :)

  7. Oh I AGONIZED over that exact grey/white/yellow Waverly fabric at my local Joann just the other day. I’m making a headboard and I am having the hardest time deciding on the fabric. I don’t know about your Joann, but one near me has all their upholstery fabric 50% off (which is pretty great when it’s $39.99 a yard…)

  8. Loving those ottomans! I always forget they have home decor — I ought to check it out more often! They also have great deals on baby furniture and stuff too.

  9. Oh wow! I need to check out the Burlington Coat factory again. I havent been in a long time. I have found some amazing stuff like this though at the TJMAX. Do you have a TJ down there? They have amazing deals. In fact… I should go tomorrow. :-)

  10. I had no idea! This IS good info. Or, on the other hand, maybe not. Must remind myself I’m trying to stay on a budget…

  11. I do mean to stop by mine when I’m down that way but usually forget. I knew they carried Christopher Lowell stuff, but didn’t realize they even had furniture. I’ll have to make sure I definitely stop by next time.

  12. I scored a Filigree Urn look-a-like from TJ MAXX for 12 dollars. Don’t you just love finding great deals?

  13. Thanks for sharing. I’ve only visited BCF once, but it was at Christmas time and the home department was filled with mainly holiday items. I’ll have to give it another shot. You’ve found some great things.

  14. Wow, I had no idea. I haven’t shopped there in a long time and back then it was for baby. I am headed there this afternoon! Thanks! You never disappoint! You’re so awesome. My daughter’s a Kate so that must be part of your awesomeness! All Kate’s are Kool!!

  15. I love, love, love the Waverly Lovely Lattice print! I made curtains from that fabric to hang in my den, and they totally make the room. I was thinking of buying the pattern again but in a different color to make pillow shams for the bedroom. It is such a gorgeous print, and I’m so glad you featured it!

  16. Thanks for the reminder about BCF! I haven’t been to one in awhile, but thanks to this post I hit the closest one on my lunch break. I bought the Waverly Lattice shower curtain in the green print, and matching blue towels (2 sets for $20! Go me!!). Can’t wait to hang it all up when I get home!

  17. I had to stop by again and thank you Kate. I stopped in Burlington Coat Factory yesterday after being inspired by your post. I picked up one of the urns you showed and just love it. Thanks for the tip!

  18. I dreamed about that Waverly fabric last night, probably thanks to this post. This is the first time I’ve dreamed about a specific pattern, and called it by it’s brand name in my dream. Lol!

  19. Hey! I’m just catching up on your blog and I had to chuckle at your post. Great minds think alike, eh?? Check out a couple of my blog posts whenever you get a moment:

I did my nook banquette in lovely lattice lagoon. It was the jumping off fabric for my entire house remodel that is still ongoing…. :D
    Too funny. I love it!

  20. Thank you for the tip! I stopped by the Factory on Friday and picked up that Bedazzled mirror and two striped throw pillows for our bedroom as well as a pack of TWO throw pillows for the living room that was only $12.99. Yippee!

  21. LOVE me some BCF! We got our comforter for our master bedroom there last year, Nautica – $60! I saw the same one at Bed, Bath & Beyond for $200. Serious steal!

    I haven’t been in a while….

    Hugs,
    G
