I couldn’t put this down for 45 minutes !  I knew this publication was right up my alley when I read the FMS Mantra:

“Forget what it was, imagine what it can be.”

Yes, I love that !

Inside are 146 pages of images of everything I adore, from furniture painted in fresh colors . . .

. . .  to plenty of tips on how to make new uses out of old things.

My favorite thing about this publication, besides all of the inspirational ideas and glorious photography, is the philosophy that homes and lives can be made beautiful by repurposing old things, and making treasures out of thrift store, auction, antique store, and flea market finds.  I completely subscribe to that.

Now I have two extra copies of Flea Market Style that I am proud to giveaway to two lucky winners – a $9.95 value !

Eligibility to win one of two copies of Flea Market Style:

1)  Simply leave a comment telling us about one of your favorite thrifty finds.  Is it from a fabulous flea market ?  A local thrift store ?  A cool consignment shop ?  Or just a great bargain you uncovered at a local store.   That’s all – just spill the beans about one of your frugal finds in a comment to be eligible.

One entry per person please.  Giveaway ends Saturday March 6th at 8 p.m. PST.   Winners will be chosen by Random.org.

My husband found a crusty old rocking chair at a junk shop somewhere in Northern Michigan. It doesn’t have arms, but has a drawer that pivots out on one side for holding spools of thread and other small sewing supplies. It had taken some abuse, but the character was still intact.

I found a wonderful desk at a thrift shop that was sold for almost nothing! I took it home, painted it, and used it as the desk/catch-all table in my foyer!

  3. Saundra says:

Purchased a darling little tea set at the thrift store last week for tea parties with my darling little granddaughters.

I found two bowls to match my (formerly my grandma’s) Spode china. I found the bowls years ago in a Spode shop in Victoria, BC for $95 each, and that was way out of my range, but found in a local thrift shop, two of them for $4.95 total!

  5. My favorite find were some silver frames I found for $1 each. Deseret Industries.

I got this great shelf complete with hooks from Goodwill for $4.00.I hung it about a bench with buckets underneath for shoes. A little spray paint, pictures of the kids, a clock and a topiary and it became the perfect spot for backpacks, coats and hats!
