For me one of the best things about Thanksgiving is that I can have both types of potatoes at the same meal - YUM!! Mashed potatoes and gravy and a fabulous sweet potato and spinach casserole.

Oh I am the southern variety and NEVER saw a mashed tato on Thanksgiving until I got married and my ex was horrified that I was not going to make them. So mashed yukon golds have become a staple. But for me,the glory tuber of the day is sweet potato - I have a pie recipe with quince jelly, I always make the sweet potato souffle and have even done sweet potato sausage balls (which are actually quite yummy and super easy) for appetizers.

This year we are adding Filipino Egg rolls to honor my significant other's heritage - it seems oddly appropriate in this diverse country to serve food from all over - but I did draw the line at white rice - however this is always next year lol

Have a blessed Thanksgiving!

I just wanted to wish you a Happy Thanksgiving! One of the things I am thankful for this year is YOUR blog, Kate! I LOVE my home (& the fam's not bad either...LOL) and love to make it a warm, welcoming retreat for my family. Your blog offers me inspiration and encouragement to do just that...EVERY day. So, thank you, Kate...and HaPpY ThAnKsGiViNg!!!

Thanks so much for featuring me too, and for buying my pitiful attempts at funny. I'm proud to be up against such a worthy contender in Sarah in the Great Potato Debate!

Happy Thanksgiving everyone!

Oh girl, most Southern tables will have sweet potato casserole front and center, ours included. WE always, always have that on the menu. my dad loves sweet 'taters so much, he GROWS them in his garden to eat all winter long. That's how much my family loves the things. I have a whole basket of sweet taters in my garage right now and we love to just bake them up and eat them with meals. A little butter, touch of brown sugar and cinnamon and they are delish.

Hope you have a fabulous Thanksgiving, dear Kate! THese recipes today look wonderful too.

Thank you for inviting me to be a Guest Blogger! I am so excited that you liked my pie recipe - and those roasted, fried, fluffy and delicious looking potatoes from Erin look amazing! Makes me hungry just looking at them!

I've so enjoyed reading your recent Christmas decor (those Poinsettia pillows are amazing!) and guest blogging posts and enjoyed participating as well! Have a wonderful Thanksgiving!

Best,
Sarah

P.S. I saw that you're going to BlissDom, can't wait to meet you in person! :)
