Parade of Ornaments

By Kate Riley November 3, 2009

Hey everyone – let’s party !  Isn’t that one of the best things about this season ?

Ornaments are just about my most favorite thing.  Like a moth to a flame, I am easily distracted by sparkly Christmas ornaments anywhere they appear.  I can’t pass through any shop these days without oooohing and aaaahhhing over these baubles.  And now I want to see yours !

So today I’m inviting you to a very special event !  It’s a Parade of Ornaments on December 8th

Time to bring out your best, photograph them, and post all about them.  Where will they appear ?  In a beautiful compote ?  Strung in front of your windows with ribbons?   Of course, your tree is always the perfect feature, right?  Time to tell stories of meaningful ornaments from years past and show off your special keepsakes.

It’s also a DIY party, so if you’ve got something fabulous up your sleeve this year, join me on this day to showcase your DIY project.

Minimal criteria here.  If you attach a ribbon to a glass ball and hang it somewhere, that totally counts.

I’ll show you mine if you show me yours!   Please join me in a Parade of Ornaments on December 8th !

  1. This is so weird. I just popped over because I haven’t seen anything new from you in my Blogger Reader since your pillow post…and you’ve published a whole bunch of new posts! I’ll re-add you to my list and see if that solves the problem, but I thought I’d let you know just in case others are having the same problem.

  2. Such a great idea. I don’t think Ive ever made an ornament before (just so many pretty ones to purchase, Ive never bothered) but I can’t wait to see what you have up your sleeve.

  3. Fun! I made some cute ornaments last year as gifts for my sister and two of my sister-in-laws. If I can find pictures, I’ll post them…or just make some new ones. :)

So should we also post photos of our other favorite ornaments, or just the DIY ones? I took pictures of some of my faves last year, but I was new to blogging so I didn’t use them in a post.

LOVE this idea, Kate, and the button is fabulous! :)

  4. Sounds like fun! I could definitely add a ribbon to a glass ball by then (cutting it close but I think I can manage). :-)

  5. Sounds like fun. I’m sure I’ll have “Christmas” out by then so this might be my very first event to attend on blogger.

  6. You rock, Kate. I love your posts, always fresh, always nice… I feel as if I know you. You got me in… I was just considering, but when you posted “minimal criteria”, that just did it. Got to tell you, you’re one of my ispirations in this bloggy world. Thank you!

  7. How fun!! I’ve never attempted to make ornaments before! But I do have a super fun and very personal theme for our christmas tree….perhaps I’ll have to make a tour of it :)

  8. I am SO in the Christmas mood already… this is too fun! I love all the bloggers getting into christmas spirit! :)

  9. I love ornaments too. I am not in the Christmas spirit this year since we just moved from our home in Florida to a suburb of Cincinnati Ohio. We move into our new home on Tuesday and all I have on my mind it getting my house unpacked and decorating it. I went all out last Christmas because I knew that it would be our last year in our home and we had family coming in from Texas. I think I deserve a pass this year:)
