A little something happened today that calls for a celebration. So glad we have a leftover bottle of champagne from last night’s birthday party, because I am just completely elated and overjoyed. What happened you might ask ?
On my Statcounter, this site just registered over two million pageviews. Two million ! In nine months ! Holy guacamole Batman ! My little ol’ brain is spinning just thinking about it. I am so very grateful to those of you who read about my adventures in DIY and decorating.

So with a thankful heart, and an attitude of gratitude, I’d like to offer two lucky winners (two million = two winners) a special prize. I found your blog about a month ago and have scoured through EVERYTHING on it!! I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE your blog. I’ve always wanted to be a DIYer but was never brave enough to really start anything big. Now that I have your blog as a reference, it has been so freeing and enjoyable to do some big projects myself. I have been painting wood that I hated the look of, making different decor for holidays, making the spa towel, and soon my sister and I are going to be making the headboard for her bed. 2 million is awesome! I’m honored to be among them. You’ve inspired me to take a try at spray painting – now I just need to find the right piece of furntire (also, did you know you can get custom colors into a spray paint can? – I think Sherwin Williams will do it). The painter who did the trim at my house gave us two cans for touch ups (oil based).

I love that your blog has *real* decorating advice. You live in a home with children and a budget. It is wonderful to see how your home can be beautiful, liveable, and inexpensive.
Love your thanksgiving bunting! I am thinking of making an advent calender with miniature pails. I have three children to provide treats for and buckets will hold more. I must confess that the children are 23, 18 and 14 and will literally howl if we don’t have one. Just a warning of the future. ;)
