Hello Kate! I must say, I am impressed. Just looking over all of your duties/hobbies/jobs made me tired so your ability to pull it off truly does make you a centsational girl.
This world needs more females like you that's not afraid to take charge and go out there and make a difference. I bet you can blister them in the courtroom also. Good luck in all your endeavors.

Kate, my neighbor and i are both in the process of doing our bannisters and came across your site. Ironically we are also going from oak to a dark brown. We have restained them and our problem is the stain is dry but really shiny! It looks like we have put high gloss poly (yuck) on them but we haven't. Any ideas of how to knock down the shine? do you think we should try the craft paint?
